Oh yeah, now were getting this done.

What a delightful match to watch. I'm screaming MITÄ VITTUA (what the *******) around 5 AM here probably waking up half the building. Don't really care though, this is taking me back to the not caring-mode. What happens, happens.

Okay watching some of the game and then giving up (just like the team does), I don't get this "shoot the puck!" thing. It's not like they're passing up good scoring opportunities to pass. They just aren't getting in good scoring areas to begin with.

It reminds me of my rec team. They keep saying "shoot the puck, we need more shots on net". Meanwhile nobody can get into the offensive zone because they can't handle a puck and get behind the defenseman. You can't shoot the puck and score from the neutral zone.

What I saw out of the team was a serious inability to get the puck out of the defensive zone, terrible passing and turnovers in the neutral zone, and lack of creativity on the PP.

Defensive zone...early on they would win the puck races/battles and make a couple quick passes to get the puck to a player in the high slot, who would skate it up ice. Start in on the forecheck and wear down the other team. Now they are losing those races (especially to a fast Eddy team) or making blind, stupid dumps up the boards which are always turnovers.

On the PP...how many times have we seen this:
- win the draw
- pass to the point
- skate laterally along the blue line and pass to the other point man
- point man skates up the half wall and passes back to the point man on the blue line
- point man fakes a shot and passes to the guy on the other half wall
- half wall guy tries to make a cross ice pass
- puck gets picked off and sent all the way down

Here's an idea: There's ice behind the net. When you're dicking around with the puck at the blue line/half boards, you have four defenders and a goalie in front of you. You're not going to score. If you go to the corner and send guys behind the net and in front, you have two passing options and the defender has to come out to challenge. All of a sudden passing lanes open up.

I don't understand why this team refuses to go behind the goal line on the PP. It's stupid. Nobody's going to score a goal from the point when standing around. Those cross ice passes aren't going to work when you aren't forcing the PK to move their feet.

Right now I'm giving Yeo the benefit of the doubt and assuming the players are tired due to a tough road schedule and injuries. But they need to figure it out and soon. I'm hoping he just plays the AHL'ers more because if the vets aren't doing it, why wear them down? Let Brodz play the third line still and get first liners from Houston. No the skill isn't there but at least you have two NHL lines doing their job rather than trying to overachieve.

Ugh.

I'm too pissed off at the Wild to be pissed off at Knucklehead's fans at the same time.

Remind me about it after we win again and this boiling rage starts to dissipate.

Sorry your previous posts gave me a much needed laugh about the situation.

So you liked my Wild vs Coal joke?

Yeah I dont know where that one came from. I guess all this rage inside of me is so dense that some of it is reaching critical mass and spontaneously converting to comedy.

Just watch, they lose the game against Colorado and I become the next great stand up act to get his own TV show on NBC.

Well at least he ****ing looked at it this time. ****.

What pisses me off is the complete lack of consistency and obvious star player bias. The NHL needs to develop a REAL means of handing out discipline, rather than this ****ing Sheriff Shanny joke fest.

Now I'm all pissed again.

I'm gonna go search youtube for meditation videos. I need to get this boiling anger under control, at least until Monday when I can scream at my TV while I watch the Abominable Snowfailures destroy the Minnesota Mild. ****.

Oh God, the Minnesota Mild team is back...

With Koivu possibly in the lineup against the Avs, maybe this will changes.

I'm guessing it takes us a week to 10 days before we even look remotely close to what we were before Koivu got laid up. The apathy amongst our players has had time to set in.

Also does anyone have a link to Yeos press conference from last night? Still havnt seen it, only read about how he had to bite his own tongue to keep from cursing.

If I was a coach, and I had to do a press conference after that game, I would probably open with "You guys better make sure you're on a 5 second delay so the censors can bleep me, because I am going to be dropping f-bombs left and right".

I wonder if he let today remain an off day out of wanting to actually give the team a rest, or out of disgust and not wanting to see them until Monday.

Damn he sounded like he was ready to rip some people a couple of new ones each.

Well, I think that's the case.

Also, I believe Spurgeon stayed in Edmonton for the weekend.

My take...

http://www.stateofhockeynews.com/201...oilertown.html

I must admit, I didn't see this one, I heard about half of it on the radio and I'm pretty glad I didn't. It sounded ugly almost right from the drop of the puck. I am not sure not having practice after the poor Calgary game was such a good idea. At least there is a little break now that hopefully will mean we get some of our key guys back. I have a game recap along with a high school boys hockey profile on Maple Grove and Duluth Denfeld. Enjoy!
