Ugly win. Not a great effort by the team or the goalie, to be honest.
thankfully, though, our young talent is just better than the Isles young talent, so we still won.
Bozak is turning into a heckuva player. He, Kadri, and Frattin really brought it tonight, at least.
yep.
Sloppy after a few weak goals in the first for TO.
Reims, did a double take when I saw him starting - Ron?
Defensive lapses are starting to really be a concern.
Kessel solid again - even saved the game at the end... lovin this
Bozak, very good, again, as was Loops
Huge Grabo fan but I cannot figure out what is going on with him. No spark like before and Kulie and Mac I feel are suffering as a result, but Mac looked OK tonight,
Ron... pk... wha
I missed the first period, but they didn't look too good in the 2nd half of the game. Reimer wasn't too good tonight. Kadri impressed me again today, and like his defensive play. If he could be Datsyuk light for us, that would be great. Bozak played good. I think the 2nd and 4th lines played the best.
Disagree with the shot, but agree for the most part on everything else. I think on a contender he is more of a 3rd line C that can provide good offense.
You could argue he is our 3C. He isnt better than Connolly, and Grabo has been the incumbent 2 for the past 3 years.
That being said he is a keeper. The only situation he hasnt shown the ability to play is the point on the PP..... other than that hes a great all-around guy
Special note deserved fro Frattin. He had a real strong game, and even if he didnt score, hes showing that he is an NHL calibre player.
I pretty much saw the 3rd period and the 1st/4th goals Leafs scored but good to see Leafs head to the break with some momentum.
Our offense had another good night. From what I saw, they looked very dangerous in the 3rd period but kinda weird how the only goal they scored was an empty netter, especially that Kessel line. They were dangerous offensively and its pretty cool Lupul gets to keep his streak alive and Kessel now has more assists than goals (lolwut???)! I was pretty impressed with Bozak on that short-handed goal, that was nice vision and patience.
I was pretty impressed with Kadri in the 3rd period. I haven't seen his goal yet but good to see him get one but I like how he took some hits in the 3rd but still made the plays, got the puck in deep and managed to be dangerous offensively. Seems like Mac-Connolly-Kadri line has found some good chemistry, hopefully they keep it going.
Defense was fine other than leaving Tavares in front of the net with the puck for what seemed like forever. I didn't like Reimer at all in the 3rd period, he kept fumbling the puck and looked very shaky but whatever, we got the win so who cares!
The thing I like about Kadri is he is making Mac and Connolly better players, those 2 were far less dangerous before he arrived on the line. Good players do this, Naz still needs to get stronger on his skates, but he is performing like I thought he would at the NHL level, as a 7th pick overall pick should.
How crap were they? The team won the game. Reimer had ok performance, but still be able to help the team to win the game. If he played crap, then the team was lost already.
Kessel had two good chances, but Nabokov saved it. And he didn't play selfish of the empty net goal. I really don't know how could you say they both were crap tonight.
The only good shots Reimer faced ended up in the net. He was barely tested. And as for Kessel's chances, one of them was handed to him on a silver platter by Joffery. Phil I think completed maybe 3 passes the whole game. The play died on his stick too many times to count tonight.
I thought Kessel was alright, nothing spectacular... but he was alright. Made a few defensive plays near the end, he didn't shoot very much, but he made a lot of nice plays. His cross ice to I think it was Lupul was an awesome pass, his empty net set-up was great... Just my opinion, thought he was alright... not horrible like some people are saying.
Devils beat the Caps. I think this is good because it keeps the Caps a little farther back and as long we don't fall into 9th, we're okay.
Exactly, as long as the 9th and 10th place teams keep losing I'll be happy. NJ winning was a good outcome for us. A Winnipeg loss would also help us out.
Our penatly killing is still ****. I'm surprised we are winning games.
You don't actually blow it if you win the game. Makes things more difficult, yes. Winning the game is not blowing anything. The Jackets with a 5-1 lead last night and losing 6-5 is blowing it.
