I'd say it was about even.

Staal, Sauer, Wolski, Eminger were the notables missing from NYR

Pronger, Couturier, Briere missing from PHI

I'd say its close. Philly missing more firepower, we are missing 2 of our top 4 and 3 of our top 6 defenseman, as well as our 2nd line LW.

Ahh i see, I didn't get to watch the 2nd game against NYI at the colliseum so i thought we only played them 2 times thus far.

Nevermind, lets go 3 in a row.
Filthadelphia fans never cease to amaze me.

Was at the Coyotes game tonight (snorefest)and missed most of the telecast but watching the replay of the Stralman hit -- was wonderingif anyone heard how Steve Coates was? Did he come back? He's a close personal friend.

You think Wolski will be Richards' wing when he returns? I'm not really high on Wolski, but then again Torts played Feds and Hagelin on the line, not like these guys are snipers either.

BTW, I know he;s not the best D-man, but still we're missing Woywitka who has been our 6th D-man all year (or almost all year, don't remember early in the season).

Edit: I meant that he said "they" will destroy us, not "he".

I only just recently really got involved with hockey (I've always been more of a passive fan). But it astounds me just how quick the Rangers became my second favorite team, honestly the only other NHL team I really love. They're just so fun and amazing to watch.

This game was especially intense and awesome. I watched the second period and it was just so thrilling. I'm sad to say that I didn't watch the third period because I was busy with other things, wish I hadn't missed it. GREAT win by the Rangers though. Such a fantastic team.

Lundqvist is also my most favorite goalie ever.

They said he wasn't cut and he was smiling when they showed him after the hit.

Oh yes well I've always loved hockey. Really the only sport I care to follow. Always loved going to games. I've been wanting to get more involved in the seasons but I don't have any sort of cable so I was never able to watch games. Then I decided to actually search and someone gave me the firstrowsports site.

It was all uphill from there! I've learned a WHOLE lot in only a couple weeks. And my life is so much better now

And you're already posting here. It's been a quick descent into madness, huh?

Sorry if this was already mentioned, I just got back home after a long night out after the game, and haven't read anything in the thread yet. The crowd was absolutely nuts tonight, and nothing, and I mean NOTHING, was cooler than Joe Micheletti, while the refs were reviewing the Stepan goal, giving a two-thumbs-up to the Ranger fans to indicate it was a goal, and the crowd went absolutely nuts. Just insane. And then 2 minutes later, the ref made the announcement that it was a goal. But that was just one of the coolest things I've seen at a game.

This happened to me a few years ago at a game. Sam was giving the fans the nod that it was a good goal.

Richards had an absolute seed to Gabby on the PP early. Still bringing it, should have been an assist.

I thought he made a couple of nice plays on the PP. He'll get going again soon enough.

Having some computer trouble so this might be a re-post. Watched the Flyers feed and its amusing watching their announcers moan and meow about the Rangers playing way too rough with the delicate Flyers.

mcdonagh, del zotto, and, dubinsky

i would have given stralman fourth, for the big hit - which i think put a second thought in the flyers heads and helped turn the momentum.

Seeing that Bryzgalov Photoshop first thing in the morning has made the fact I am at work right now so much more tolerable.

Lololol, my smile is so humongous big right now.

this spot is the rangers one hole (aside from injuries). i am thinking wolski will get a shot there. then zuccarello if wolski fails. worst case, they make a deal at the deadline for an offensively-gifted vet.

Watching this years team I have no idea how I was able to withstand the complete mediocrity and lackadaisical play I saw just 2-3 years ago from this team.. I'm SO glad we were able to get rid of Redden, Rozival, Drury, Kotalik and all the like. I think the adulation Avery gets is because he was one of the only fun parts of those dreadfully dull teams..

Last years team was fun to watch because the effort was always there, but this year they've turned into a new gear completely..

a couple final thoughts...

that second philly goal should have been disallowed. the reffing was just poor all night. but it's encouraging to see the rangers so thoroughly strong that they didn't get hurt by the bad reffing. other teams - other ranger teams - lose and say 'the refs ****ed us'. good teams don't let poor reffing ruin things. great job last night.

also, that slash on gaborik was garbage. the guy got beat - lucky bounce for the rangers, even - and he just whacks away cynically. and no penalty. that's something stupid and totally unnecessary that the league should address. it's not even a spur-of-the-moment heat-of-the-action elbow or aggressive hit. just a lazy, cheap, and, thoughtless product of frustration that could easily be eliminated if the league took a stand.

the flyers were really frustrated and made a few real ***** moves last night.

anyhow, i'm very proud of this rangers team. great stuff.
