Even if you think that Mr. Snider wants a Stanley Cup that badly, and I agree that he does, money always has and always will play a role on how much players are playing. I don't believe in unconditional persuit of the cup by a GM.
If at the end of the season the Flyers are skating with the Cup on Wells Fargo ice I don't think anyone will care, including Mr. Snider.

But, all of this is really premature. It's not even November yet.

its really early to be passing judgment on a goalie and a team that are still in a state of flux due to all the offseason changes, if they (and bryz) look like this at the allstar break then calling for heads is warrented. bryzgolov obviously knows he's not playing well and doesn't want to let his team or his fans down(just listen to his interview after the jets game) lets put a little faith in him and the team and see how november pans out before we start marching players to the stockades.

If we are in the playoffs, the only goalie that will get a chance to win the cup is Bryz unless he is injured or not on the team. That is Bob's only chance at being our goalie in the playoffs. Will Bob play a few games in the playoffs? Possibly. Professional sports are in place to make money. Your highest paid players will (almost) always play the most when it counts. Snider and every other GM's motivations to winning are for pride in their team and making profit. It simply doesn't make sense to pay a guy $10 million to sit on the bench in the playoffs. Especially when we brought him in so there would be no question on who would be our starter in the playoffs. That is how the world works. This isn't a video game or fantasy hockey.

Flyers' insane offense will continue to bail him and Bobrovsky out.

I've taken it extremely seriously. And after careful contemplation and review of the number of poor performances put up so far by Bryz, the answer to the thread title is..........................wait for it.............................ZERO! The Over/Under until Bob is appointed the starter is ZERO!! Thank you for coming. Have a good night...

Some of you do realize that no goalie will put up great numbers with a piss poor defense in front of them, right?

I guess it's the casual fan that only focuses on how many goals we score and how many goals we let in and then says "well we're scoring a good amount of goals but giving up too many...must be the goalie's fault."

That's true but the third goal let up by Bryz last night was extremely soft. The second goal was also questionable. The point is, it doesn't matter how bad he is because of his contract. He is and will be our starter for the next 9 years unless he gets injured or traded.

I forgot to mention the fact that, despite Bryz's mediocore play and him being bailed out by the team, Bryz is 9-1-1 in his last 11 games. Not too bad...

Wont be surprised if every has an apple juice tonight, goes to bed, watches 24/7 this Wednesday, and falls in love with Bryz again.

Doubtful. Being funny off the ice doesn't make up for being crap on the ice.

..yeah.
Bob had his share of "lost in the woods" game as well. He played fewer games and against weaker opponents that is why his stats look significantly better.

Nevertheless, they should play him more because Bryz clearly hasn't done anything special yet.

Both Bob and Bryz have been plagued with similar inconsistency... Both have the tools to be top level goalies but are both suspect psychologically. Bryz is a strange one overall, so it's hard to gauge whether he'll ever be the number one he is getting paid to be for the Flyers. Bob still needs to prove himself to be mentally stronger and show longer term consistency before I'd see him replacing Bryz.

Bob still has a lot to prove but he needs the games to do so. Both Bob and Bryz are goalies that need workload to get into a groove especially Bryz. I do think that Bob works harder and battles whereas Bryz relies on his experience and positional play. He also reads off the D more. He also needs the D to clear people and the puck and Pronger was instrumental with that. He has even mentioned in the past how much Pronger means to the team back on D. Bob on the other hand can compensate for breakdowns a little better when not spazzy bc of his athleticism and competitiveness to battle. With Bryz if he is caught out of position he rarely makes the extra effort to battle. How many times have you seen him lunge at pucks etc like a Tim Thomas? At most he puts out the telescopic leg...

Bob is much younger and in his second year so he has room to grow. Bryz is a vet and has likely hit his ceiling. I think he'll start the next game and I can't imagine he won't start the WC.

Shafer: "Goaltending is overrated!"
HFBoards: "BLASPHEMY! You just don't know you're a Flyers fan!"
Shafer: "Goaltending is overrated!"
Flyers Board: "Are you a moron?"
Shafer: "Goaltending is overrated!"
Bryzgalov: "Shhhh. I am rich duck!"

Give us another top defenseman and more two-way forwards of the caliber of Richards/Carter and Bryzgalov's numbers will be awesome again.
