Aulie is just a kid and he's been sitting in the pressbox for a few weeks. Let's give him time to get his confidence back. The Phaneuf/Aulie pair worked well down the stretch last year. He is huge and adds a much-needed physical element to our blueline.
The Isles were running at our guys a lot, and it was beautiful to see Keith respond by knocking Martin senseless with a Gordie Howe-type elbow to the face.
aulie no where what he was last year though, i really hope he returns back to normal that's for sure.
I think our standards for Kessel have been raised. I think he played a decent game, nothing too special. But a decent game for Kessel still means being dangerous every time he touches the puck and getting a lot of or setting up scoring chances. At this point Im actually a little dissapointed if he only gets one point in a game because you know he could have easily had more.
yea we are spoiled lol last year that was just a miracle game but this year we expect it absolutely, that being said he is producing point in a very good pace regardless, still 2 points behind giroux though
Bozak has been terrific this year, exceeding everyone's expectations.
Nice "free wallet", eh...
i am not surprised but agreed, he is finally showing he can be a very good second line center and if he is at third line a great one for sure. an awesome addition without using a pick or anything.

Agreed. He's had a rough year, starting at training camp. But he's only 22, playing a tough position (stay-at-home D).
Let's hope he gets his game together. We're a much tougher team to play against when he's in the lineup and playing well. He's huge and plays a punishing game.

he was pretty bad in the A as well. But then again, defensemen are the hardest players to develop in the game second to goalie...I guess we are sorta spoiled with Schenn and Gardiner, so we expect the same result from him.

If (when?) we get to the point where Bozak is our 3rd line C, then this will be a scary team indeed.
He's good on the draw, plays a sound defensive game, and can kill penalties. But he's much more than a typical 3rd-liner; this guy can put points on the board. That's the kind of scoring depth that wins championships.

that's true but we still need to get this team to that point where we don't have to worry about bozie on our first line.
Anyone think lupul was a bit selfish on the open netter?
then it came to kessel and he wasn't selfish at all, gave lupes a tap in.
I thought that too when it happened. On the replay, it looked like Lupul might not have known Kessel was wide open...just got it on his stick and shot at the net quickly while he could...

Aulie is somewhere around 8th on the depth chart at the moment, and he's still relatively young. He's a good asset to have.
If you weren't whining about Kadri being with the Marlies then you are a hater.
I, therefore, am a hater.

No it wasn't more than that.
If you didn't think Kadri should be with the team you were a hater.
That of course makes RW the biggest hater of all because he is the one who sent him to the Marlies.
There are about 3-4 posters who might be considered haters, and regardless of what Kadri does will not give him credit. Very small minority of posters here.
There are probably about 3-4 posters who think he is the best player on the team.
Bottom line is the team is the Maple Leafs not the Kadri's, and Kadri is just another asset owned by the Maple Leafs.
Burke and staff will do what is best for the Leafs and if that is sending Kadri to the minors that is what will be done. They won't do that because he is too good for the AHL or good enough to play on the Leafs they'll do that because it is best for the organization.

No. Take the shot or bury it behind the net.
Screw up a shot or screw up a pass, anything could happen.
They scored so it worked, a missed pass might have headed in the other direction.
Kessel would have been run over if he tried to bring it out front ... we could take it to the Kessel didn't want to bear down on the net to score, or Kessel bailed ... LOL.
I really like the depth on the top 3 lines. However, I'd rather have Lombardi in the press box and Frattin in for him.
As would some other people, but I just don't think it'll happen. We'l have to see.

Komisarek and Franson both play the same position/side.
This is going to be an interesting decision, perhaps we might see a move made when this comes about.
Agreed on Boyce, but in his 2 games he's been pretty good IMO and he should keep it up. I think putting Lombardi on the 4th line is kind of counter-productive. His creativity/speed/defensive play is better suited to a top-9 role.
