Reading threw your thread and apparently, you guys are lacking a strong shutdown d-men and a offensive player, correct? Here goes...

Parise + Volchenkov
for
Weber + 2nd

We get our #1 d-men that can move the puck and play the PP while adding another pick in a deep draft and you guys get a sparkplug on offense (and a stud on the PK as well) in Parise and a SAH d-men in Volchenkov. My board would kick and scream but in all honesty, signing two left wingers to be the heart and soul of your team isn't a smart move IMO. We desperatly need that stud blueliner to knock down everyone down a notch in our depth chart more then anything else.

If we could somehow land the rights to Radulov as well, maybe take out your 2nd and we can add something on our side, it would be the best possible scenario since our RW depth is garbage.

Yes, no, maybe

Not bad, but Weber is a RFA and Parise is an UFA. Maybe take off the 2nd?

Screw it. Leave the 2nd. If Weber has to go we cannot really ask for a better return than that. Just have to hope Parise wants to re-sign. We would have close to 8 million dollars to convince him. Plus, I don't see Poile pulling the trigger unless he has been allowed to talk to Zach and is confident in his ability to get a deal done.

Disagree. Change Weber to Suter or this makes no sense for anyone but NJD.

I guess if NJ is trying to deal Parise it would be better to just wait until July and try to get in on the GD American Hero sweepstakes

So both UFA's are a wash, right? That would mean that Volchenkov would equal a return of a 2nd round pick?

I'd counter your post and say "this makes no sense for anyone but Nashville"

I wasn't even looking at the extras in the deal, merely the centerpieces . Apologies.

Now that as every game goes by and it becomes obvious we need more defense rather than more offense trading suter or weber for parise doesn't make much sense.

Any ideas if volchenkov would be available on his own? And what he would cost?

Personnaly, I'd move Volchenkov just for cap relief. 99% of our board really likes the guy but for what he brings to the table and his annual cap hit, he's probably one of the worst contracts on our team.

He's getting the least amount of icetime out of our entire d-core that includes a 19 year old rookie (Larsson), a sophmore (Fayne), a guy that missed a entire year due to a head injury (Salvador), our worst d-men this year (Tallinder) and a 2nd pairing d-men in Andy Greene.

He has no idea what to do when the puck is on his stick, causes more turnovers in our own end then anyone else on our team but he can hit like a truck (when he actually hits the opposing player) and is a beast on the PK.

With that said, a 4.25M$ contract per year for the next 4 years for a PK specialist is not something I want on my team. Do you still want him now?

Weber and sk for Ovechkin

Radulov-Wilson-Ovechkin
Smith-Legwand-Erat/Hornqvist

Would be a dream top 6 next year

I'd obviously rather have Weber sign an extension.
