It's probably for a frenchie like Brassard with the Habs taking on salary. Maybe something even as small as a straight swap between Brassard and Weber. Hopefully then we'd be forced to move Gomez, but we've got a good month or so and can place Gomez, Markov and Gionta on IR for cap relief.

The rumor is from some plug source off twitter so I doubt its true. Wouldn't mind seeing something around Cammalleri and Brassard (and maybe a guy like Boll or Dorsett for our 4th line) if we were going to deal with them.

It's time to accumulate picks, not give them away. It'll slow the rebuild and make the next GMs job much harder, all for a futile last gasp towards the playoffs.
