Garnett should be suspended. You can't grab people necks like that.

KG is a *******. Need to play more consistent defense but the offense looks on point.

Melo with 17 in the 4th.

I know it's only the 1st game, but I see him as a possible MVP finalist.

I really don't like the old bald white guy ref, whatever his name was.

I feel like he was just on a power trip the whole game.

Great to beat the Celtics though and a TON of Rangers were in attendance tonight so maybe we'll get some NYK MSG shots on 24/7

Was it Dick Bavetta? If it was, then it makes sense.

Crawford.

I agree. I'm kind of suspicious of him. If you know what I mean.

Melo was THE man today...if he plays like that all season, he's a legit MVP candidate. Toney Douglas CANNOT run this offense. Baron cannot get healthy fast enough.

Bibby will soon get a chance to run the offense. And obviously Baron when he's back.

Shumpert out 2-4 weeks. Bummer.

I really cannot wait until Baron and Shump are both healthy and, in Shump's case, starting.

A healthy Baron and Shump will force Douglas and Fields to the bench to play their natural positions. I don't know if people realize what a huge difference this will make. Douglas is incapable of running the offense, and Fields is just too slow at the 2 and can't play to his strengths with Melo also on the court. A lot is made of Shump's shot selection, but I thought for the most part it was fine. Some of them just didn't go, and with Douglas at the point, you're basically asking everyone else on the court to create offense for themselves. Let's hope the MCL sprain isn't too bad and he's back in a couple of weeks. What a difference we saw when he was on Rondo compared to Douglas.

With a poor coach in Pringles and Amare refusing to box out or pay attention on defense when the play isn't right in front of him, we'll never be a really good defensive team. Hold our opponents to under 100 per game this season and I'll be satisfied.

You could tell they kinda blew their load in the first 20 minutes and didn't get their energy back until the 4th. Overall, I was pleased with the performance. The team conditioning will improve as the season goes on, and our defense, even if it improves, will never look good against Boston because we constantly switch and they have mastered setting illegal screens.

Shump looks like hes going to be a player in this league. Looked nervous today, but he showed some great athleticism toward the rim and had like 4 easy buckets either roll of or he just made a mistake off nerves. Looks good though.

Cannot agree with you more. I love the way Fields plays, but I'm now realizing he would be most effective off the bench. Spike Lee won't be too happy, but you can't please everybody. Shumpert has serious skills. I expect him to receive a lot of playing once he's back, but this does give Fields a chance to prove me wrong. At the point, I think Baron will fit in nicely and run a much better offense than Douglas. I loved watching him in New Orleans and Golden State.

Agreed.

Fields is definitely a more suited SF than SG. He's slow and his ball handling, IMO, is pretty terrible. Still a great player off the bench, though.

Key word: D-League.

Lin is terrible. Baron can't get healthy fast enough.

Yeah but he played on Golden State last year and he's only 23. I'd say he has potential.

Besides, I'd rather him then...Mike Bibby.

Melo was our best player last game, probably the best player on the court. Hope he can keep it up.
