Agreed. I'd like to see more out of him during the regular season though.

I would not mind a sub-par regular season and a 2nd Conn Smythe performance though

Calle is a Swedish nickname for Carl (just like Henke for Henrik). So when I say Calle, I mean Carl Hagelin. I guess that's kinda confusing with Cally (Callahan).

EDIT: Remember Calle Johansson? Or as a current example, Calle Järnkrok. Both of them are really named Carl.

Oh that makes sense. Do Swedes really need a nickname for Carl? It's already a pretty short name.

Bickel is a tough kid. Filled the Sauer role nicely since he has been gone.

Yeah, I hear ya. Look at what we do though: Rupper, Boyler, Staalsy, etc. It's not a formal nickname, but kinda similar.

MDZ, Hagelin, Lundqvist.

Voted other because I didn't notice Hagelin's name on the poll

This was probably Boyle's best game of the season. He was blocking shots, hitting, utilizing his size effectively, and battling along the boards. That entire line is great, even when they aren't scoring they are maintaining puck possession in the offensive zone and wearing out the opposition.

Now if only Rupp-Feds-Prust can get going and play a little better defensively, we can roll 4 lines with ease.

Yup. I like Stu. Hope he sticks around as #6/#7 guy when Sauer/Staal are back.

Easiest 3 stars of the year.

Shout out to Bickel and Stralman for solid games.

As has already been mentioned the Boyle line was superb.

For sure have noticed it, he needs to pick it up big time.

Not Rangers' best effort by any stretch but this team finds a way to win. Lundqvist was superb in that 2nd period when the Islanders really could have taken a lead. Del Zotto made a couple of fantastic plays in the offensive zone and looked very confident on the last PP. Good to see Hagelin scoring two goals around the net.

Side note, was anyone near that massive fight in the 3rd period in the lower bowl behind the Isles net? Seemed to be two groups of Rangers fans but security did a terrible job reacting to the initial fight and ushering the guys out because they got into it with other people as they were being escorted out.

I'm really loving that Dubi-Boyle-Mitchell line. They just pinned the Isles in their zone multiple times. They're bound to start producing soon if they keep that up.

Agreed. That shift at the end of the 2nd period where he and Stralman blocked a few shots was something to watch. Lundqvist tapped them both on the butt as they were on the ice to say good job.

Boston plays Phoenix on Wednesday night. We'll be in 1st place in East until late Wednesday night at least. Bit longer if we beat Caps.

I missed the game because I was watching the World Juniors. Can someone give me a summary of the game? How did McDonagh and Stepan look?

Almost flawless game. Some defensive breakdowns, but Lundqvist was there to make the saves when needed.

Stepan was okay. Didn't loo nearly as good as past games, but he made a few nice passes and steals in the o-zone.

McDonagh was excellent.
