Tonight is the biggest game of the year

As it stands, we're mired in the middle of our worst losing streak in God knows how long, there are a suffocating number of distractions surrounding the team, and our management team has displayed signs of panic.

We're 6 points out of 8th.

Ottawa is 8th.

They have no games in hand. If we win tonight, we move to 4 points back.

But more importantly, the monkey is off our backs. First game after Christmas break, guys are relaxed from spending time with the fam. Now it's time to let bygones be bygones and turn this ship around. A win would give Cunney the credibility he is sorely lacking right now, and it would lighten the pressure he's getting from all said sources of distraction.

If we lose, we drop to 8 points out, with other teams like Washington, Buffalo, and Winnipeg above us with the possibility of making that gap more daunting.

Win tonight, and this is the turning point in our season, mark my words.

Do you believe in new beginnings? Hell, do you believe?

GO HABS GO.

No it's not

Having a winning streak 6-7 win in a row before the 50 games mark it's more important.

I don't know if it's the Habs biggest game, but it's most certaintly is Lars Eller's most important game. That line tonight has the potential to be absooutely brutal if chemsitry sets in between the 3.

I'm usually quite optimistic, but I'm very skeptical from what I've seen of RC's coaching which really is the reason why we're 0-4 under him.

Our next series of 10 games is definitely our most important. Going all the way to mid january, we should know at the end of it whether we should be sellers or buyers.

The next 10 games are all big.

Bottom line is that if they go 3-5-2 or something similar they are a long shot to even make a run for the playoffs.

4-4-2 may keep them within 4-6 points

7-2-1 would get them close(1-3 points back) by mid January.

I hope they either get hot or keep struggling...playing around .500 or slightly better the next 15 games(10-3-2 would be good 6-5-4 would be bad 4-8-3 would be good).

If we can't be in a playoff spot by the deadline I'd try and move Campoli Kaberle Gill Gomez plus possibly Moen AK and Cammy depending on what I could get back.

Yeah... The most important game.
And I hope they lose it.

The longer somebody thinks Cunnyworth is ready for an NHL-coach job, the lower our chances to sneak in the playoffs are.

DD - Cammalleri - Leblanc? WTH!!!!!!!!

That's a disaster waiting to happen, and even Carbo never gave a player the 1st C spot after scratching a player.

Turning point? In a way. The only hope is a loss.

That also gives us a 3rd line (which is supposed to be an offensive line!!!) with nobody over 180 pounds and whose defensive conscience will be a 20-year-old rookie who played more than 10 minutes once in his NHL career.

And if that line ends up being scratched, well, you just scratched DD for a guy who was in the stands next game.

And Eller would also be our weakest no.1 C since... ehhh...
Seriously, probably our weakest no.1 C ever.

I don't really care anymore about wins. I just wanna be entertained. A couple of scoring chances, a couple of Emelin hits and maybe even a Moen fight if the mood is right

Yeah. Scheduled in between Team Canada games, just to make sure there could be some interest.

It's so nice of Hockey Canada/IIHF to schedule TC's games on different nights!

People seem to say this about most games... that it's our most important game of the season.

Difference is that a loss tonight would put us eight points out of eighth place.

It's an important game for the group in the locker room if they want to stay together.

Otherwise, I'd expect to see some guys start to be moved.

Losing is habit forming.

Under Jacques Martin they were able to turn around losing streaks and win games you least expected them to in the last two years, even earlier this season.

I would especially pay attention to some guys who have underachieved so far. If they don't show up tonight, the team could easily be out the playoff race soon.
