Being a hockey fan wouldn't be fun if all you cared about was the team winning the Cup (everything else being a failure).

So how would you rank other forms of team and individual successes, this season or in general? I'll

My top choices would probably be... (I'm ignoring the playoffs here)

Hank winning the Vezina, and overall success for him. Especially shutouts makes me happy for him.
Finishing first in the East or at least the division (beating the Pens as much as possible)
Gaborik for the RR.

A Hart trophy would be huge, but I can't imagine it going to any Ranger in the forseeable future.

Obviously the Cup is #1, but I've yet to live thru any type of banner. Even if we don't win the Cup which I believe we can, an Atlantic Division Champion banner or EC Champion banner would be awesome!

Amen! Henrik has single-handedly carried his team into the playoffs 5 out of 6 years. He deserves a trophy for that.

Dan Girardi is in contention for the Norris based on a few ESPN articles believe it or not.

They'd never give the Norris to a defenseman who barely cracks the top 60 in defensive scoring. It's not something I totally agree with, but it's pretty much a fact.

Which is why I've been saying for years that they need to establish the Bobby Orr trophy. Give it to the best offensive defenseman and let the Norris be the best defensive dman.

Agreed. They have the Art Ross and the Selke, it makes perfect sense to have the same things for defensemen.

EDIT: I suppose I should add that I recognize that defensemen can theoretically win the Art Ross, too.

1. Callahan and D.Step 60+ points each
2. Staal comes back healthy and ready to log 25 minutes+ at his normal all-star level of play
3. Get Hank his damn Vezina!

Not a bad idea but it should be noted that Bobby Orr besides being the best offensive defenseman ever was also the best defensive defenseman, a veritable one man penalty killing machine. For my money, he's the greatest player to ever play the game.

Dubinsky to score 10 goals. Never thought I'd be saying that 30+ games into this season, but there it is. Not that I think the team necessarily needs him to be super productive right now, but it really wouldn't hurt, and I really do expect more for the money he's getting now. Yes I know he works hard.

Also, definitely Hank getting a trophy. Man has been deserving it for years.

I'd agree if Gretz only had 1 200 point season. But since he did it essentially FIVE times my vote goes to TGO.

Also I don't know, i'm fine with the Norris staying the way it is.

Vezina Trophy for Hank/Biron combo. Not quite the best stats in the league, but certainly deserves it considering the banged up defense playing in front of him.

Richard Trophy for Gabby.

Some sort of recognition for one of our defensive forwards, Selke perhaps? Even just a nomination/finalist for someone like Cally who works his ass off every shift.

Girardi/DZ for Norris, though I doubt this will happen.

Pretty certain it was 4, but your point still stands. Ok I guess your essentially refers to his 196 points. close enough

Yeah, he had one 196 point season so I counted that as close enough.

Really think Henrik deserved a Vezina in the past and I hope he gets one. Aside from that Id love to see Gabby lead the league in goals and also a division crown.

Ha yeah, poor Lemieux he hit 199 that one year... also I just saw Lemieux put up 282 points in 70 games one season in Juniors... that is just mind boggling. That is like an NHL er playing in a beer league.
