Also our PP wont suck. Connolly is good and this should also give Kadri some more time on the PP if playmaking skills are needed.

Liles has been tremendous for us all year, hopefully he's not out for too long.

I'd like to see Gardiner slotted in his place on the PP alongside Phaneuf, maybe a Connolly/Franson pairing for the second unit.

Ah that sucks. He's been a huge help to our PP. Hopefully he gets better soon.

It does give someone like a Gardiner or Franson to step up on the PP. I imagine Kadri might see some more time on the PP as well.

Burke got mad at the media and said that's it, we're back to upper body, lower body kind of vague reports on injuries. I'm guessing they're saying concussion-like symptoms so the media can't figure out what it really is.

Of course, us HF posters are so much smarter than the media that we've already unravelled the code.

Gardiner is a left shot so it essentially takes Franson out of the play and Gardiner ends up either shooting it on net hoping it gets through, or passing it to the flanking winger (Kessel). Remember when we aquired him and his Wisconsin coach said his offensive awareness on the PP needed work.... this is what he was talking about.

Although this does suck, I think Jake Gardiner can really step up and perform on the PP unit quite nicely.

Man almost half the post on here should either add the troll smiley face guy or "u mad" to them. Why not add context to the discussion rather than just ripping or dismissing posts. Who are these institutionalized guys backing management with every post?

There is a very disturbing trend with concussions this season. I for one having been seeing a lot of dirty plays, so I don't think it's a rule/punishment issue. IMO it's a reaction to all the mental illness issues this off season causing guys who would have normally played through a concussion to think twice.

Considering the doctors don't actually talk to the media and the coaches release the terms of the injury to the media and public, he should talk to the coaches, not the doctors.

Didn't they diagnose Armstrong with a concussion and not concussion-like symptoms? What would be the reason to release information on one player having symptoms while the other actually having a concussion if the meaning behind it is all the same?

Uh, yeah. Some of us probably are smarter than the media. I wouldn't even disagree with that notion.

Maybe they announced Armstrong's injury before the tiff with the media that set Burke off, I dunno.

Doesn't really matter anyhow. Just wait a couple of days for the quotes from Liles' mom on what's really going on.

No deterrent. Ask Kaberle (if he can remember) to tell you about Janssen if you don't understand.

I wonder if next time we can just say the player has a concussion. This "sore neck" or "whiplash" bull could really use a rest.

But still this is pretty horrible news. Liles was playing great and definitely was a huge part of the PP. We could be in deep trouble moving forward.

Liles remains with Leafs on road trip. Hoping to skate with team later in the week with us. Entirely dependent on how he feels.

Really good sign he is still travelling with the team, not sure flying is advisable with a bad concussion?

Some of you are really ridiculous. They announce a concussion on Armstrong because..HE HAS A CONCUSSION. With Liles, he has symptoms of a concussion, like headaches, neck stiffness etc. while NOT HAVING A CONCUSSION. It's really very simple. Armstrong failed cognitive tests in relation to his baseline and Liles did not. Hence his return to the game.
