I'm really happy for Eller and hopes he gets a chance for more than 2 periods but I don't actually hate DD. Seriously, it's not his fault that he has to play center and I'm pretty sure that as winger he wouldn't be a soft minutes guy. In fact I said earlier that his defensives struggles comes more from limitations he can't control then the fact that he floats all over the ice (cough.Cammy). I just found it stupid that a team that doesn't have a chance of winning the cup this season wouln't use this opportunity to put a young 6ft2 center in a winning situation. But if I have to make a list of the small fowards I keep on the team DD comes right after Plekanec.
Man, I'm excited to see these lines in action. The shake up has kinda revitalized my interest here. Eller and Emelin getting those big minutes is amazing, I just hope they get a real look not a half game and change things up. I'm still liking what I've heard from and seen from Cunney in terms of what he is trying to do, but we all know how its gone so far... really hoping something changes tonight.
Funny part is I made another post the other day (even said "DO IT CUNNERYWORTH" and said these lines only difference is I said the Cammy/DD line would be the 3rd line not 1st. Tired of Cammy getting and wasting ice time against top opposition he can't handle.
What are people going to do when DD produces with Cammy and Leblanc? Just give all the credit to Cammy saying "he was needing rest and he's not slumping anymore, so DD has a free ride with our best winger." ?? Can't wait to hear the excuses.
Well he has to find a way to put some pts on the board cause if he doesnt, the guy is just useless.. Slow soft and weak defensively..
I like the Pacioretty - Eller - Cole line a lot. Hopefully they are left together to build some chemistry to create a line that can give the other team fits, both physical and skill. I really don't understand the comparison and competition fans put between both Eller and DD. Why do you want one to fail? Can't we be happy to have both guys that have a lot of potential. As long as the DD line doesn't get stuck out there against the Spezza line, I think he'll find a way to produce (no matter how bad Cammy has been lol).
I also like the Emelin - Subban pairing. It won't be as strong as the Gorges - Subban pairing but gotta balance the defence so they have to be split until the team (finally) builds a stronger core from top to bottom.
Cammalleri is the new Gomez, any line he plays on does significantly worse than they would without him.

Keep sliding Montreal! We'll get that 1st or 2nd pick soon.

Keep the same god damn lines for 42 games, unless someone gets hurt, in which you sub them out.
Jesus f'ing christ. What works in football (soccer) works in hockey too you know. Barcelona is only as good as they are because they have been playing together for 5+ years.
Its the same thing happens with hockey players, the more you play with same people the more you pick up their tendencies etc.
The only time you need to tinker is if a player is truly bad (see Gomez).
You think the London Knights were fantastic because they went around and grabbed all the best players? No these kids play with each other (sounds bad lol), for 3+ years. Just like in Junior A, MHTL etc.
Meh w/e. Season is lost, piss poor draft pick (not in the top 5), and I'm on my 7th pint of Guinness.

And how to explain DD that his spot is being taken by an healthy scratch?!?!?!?!
THAT is inept coaching. Carbo never did anything as stupid as this and was lambasted non-stop here.
Thanks folks, that was fun. Now how would you like your crow served?

I personally like that. He gave Eller a game to watch from up above, then gives him a true opportunity to show what he's made off by playing him in a situation to succeed. It's so refreshing comparing to the previous coach!
