It's my first winter as driver and last time it snowed (24th?) it was damn scary. Whenever I was making a turn, I was skidding for like 1-2 meters. Also when you slightly turn the wheel, the whole car slips.

Scary

It's normal the 1st time it's scary, you will get better with experience. Just make sure you keep distance as there is always patches of black ice and drive a little slower then usual

To add to what was said above (good advice) , break in momentum and short bursts , don't ever ever ever ever.....ever ever slam on breaks ever...

That's one of the most important rules...it drives me nuts when somebody is following me bumper to bumper and the roads are slippery.

Raining right now, so we might only get 5-10 cm by tommorow evening.
Probably nothing south and east of the island.

Let it snow. My son doesn't have school for two weeks and I only have to work tomorrow and Friday of this week, plus I have next Monday off as well.

meteomedia talks of a mix of snow, rain and verglas, which sounds really awful and thus, really cool. But so far, nothing has dropped in Montreal.

Amen.

On Friday, going to gear up the kids in their snow suits and take them out so I can run around them in circles and repeatedly push them into the snow.

I'm off until mid next week. Let's hope the worst is over by then.

I'd rather get snow than rain, especially since tomorrow will be -14.. Likely means slippery side-walks.. slippery roads.. ugh.

Salt your walks now, 'cause they'll be frozen sheets of ice by morning.

It's been snowing on the north shore. Some places already accumulated over 5 cm of snow. Montreal is just on the thin snow/rain line.
