playing pitt and boston - this year for two periods doesn't qualify as somehow making us contenders in a series vs them.

they are simply railroading the league. they have enough size and depth to win 5 rounds if necessary. they already won a cup and are on their way again. they have size at center, meanness on the wings and on D and they can score.

our top 2 centers are soft and tiny and while good skaters are mostly over-matched on the road and certainly in a 7 game series vs big teams. if and i say if - Eller somehow grows up quick than that is an advantage...
our D while mobile gets pounded down low, allows our goalie to get run and most of all can't clear the crease. if Gill played like chara we could talk...emelin is a start...guys like kaberle, campoli, weber, gill, need to be replaced so guys like diaz and subban can have more space

Boston's top 2 centers are hardly tough guys. I guess Bergeron has size but Boston's centers are hardly what makes them tough.

You can sense that a lot of weight has been removed from this team's collective shoulders.

Glad we didn't go into a defensive shell in the 2nd. I hated that about Martin.

White is in no way an upgrade on Nokelainen. The only aspect he can bring that Nokia can't is fighting, and one extra guy fighting isn't gonna win you many extra games.

i don't think DD is a top 6 center. he has sheltered minutes and played with our two biggest and best wingers. i like him and look forward to see what he can do...but after 5'10 pleks to follow that with 5'6 guy on a team that already has several 5'7, 5'8 wingers, i say no.
Eller and nokes are interesting and if eller emerges into a center behind pleks it could work but
i believe if they keep DD they will have to upgrade size-wise at wing..either gionta or will cammy have to go

Hopefully Campoli is traded. He has no place on this team. Emelin and Diaz should never sit.

???? White hits everyone! he is fearless and you notice the guys energy on the ice. What exactly does he not bring that Noke does???

Plus he is younger.

I agree with this. DD isn't a problem but I value both Pleks and Eller more than him, and in order for him to work along with those two we need more size on the wings.
