Kauhanen is a solid goaltending prospect, but I'm not sure if it's good move for him to go to HIFK, because they already have one talented NT-level goalie (Ville Husso).

Interesting to see Torniainen coming to play in HIFK, no doubt he'll be a big player for Jr. A, we'll see if he gets a shot with the mens team

nico friman seems to be a good prospect to he had a decent season for jokerit in Jr. B SM-sarja with 11 goals and 12 assists in 26 matches.

and kalle torniainen had 6 goals and 11 assists in 11 matches for djurgardens in the J18 Elit, and played 4 matches in the J20 Elit and got 1 assist and no goals

good forward prospects for IFK

Bump!

It's been interesting since Pohjola camp in 2009 following the age-group. My overall take is that the defensemen are very good whereas the forwards could be better at this point. There are too many smaller forwards IMO and depth isn't great either. From forwards I like Teräväinen and Ikonen most. Goalies are decent, I like Henri Kiviaho from KalPa. Too early to say whether he will be drafted or not, let's see how he'll play the the rest of the season.

I haven't never seen Kiviaho playing so could you (MBhockey1) write a few words about him..? What style of goalie is he? Strengths and weaknesses? Could he be KalPa's backup goalie next season, is he ready yet?

02.26.1994, 6'3", 183lbs
11/12 stats in U20: 16 games, 2.55, .917

Sounds pretty good to me.

I am not a goalie expert by any means, but when I have seen Kiviaho playing has been pretty good. He is big and covers a lot of the net. He seems to have good reflexes for a big goalie. He lets at times some easy goals but this is not uncommon with young goalies. Not sure if he is ready to play SM-liiga already next season, some games in Mestis could be good for him if he keeps playing well this season.

Finland U18 won a match yesterday against Slovakia 8-1. Esa Lindell is improving his game at the International stage greatly, with one goal and two assists in the game. The next game will be against Czech Republic, it should be interesting.
