Don't know how people get excited for Vs. games. They're just obnoxious.

I don't think I hate anyone more than Beninati. The biggest homer when it comes to goal scoring.

Other team scores: "...and a goal, 1-0 Rangers" and it's in that deep voice (you know what I'm talking about)

Caps score: "He scoreeeeees a laser pointed rocket to the top shelf! 1-0 Capitals!"

Also, listening to his voice and knowing how small he is, it's just not right, every time I hear that deep annoying voice I think of what he looks like and I just say to myself, "wtf"

It's those of us forced to deal with Center Ice. It is preferrable to the non-Ranger feed (well maybe not with Joe B vs the Caps) and at least it is offered in HD. The Rangers get the HD feed on Comcast Center Ice like 5 times a year when no other team is playing.

Beninati was fired from Versus after they merged with NBC/Comcast back in February.

Are we sure we get the Caps's broadcast for this? I thought if it was a VS exclusive game you got VS's team. If we do get the Caps's broadcast it's just two other annoying announcers instead of OUR two annoying announcers.

Very excited for this game! Biron is a good goalie but he isn't as sharp as Henrik on rebounds. Should be a tough match-up but I predict a Rangers win 3-2 in regulation.

It's Comcast not Center Ice that's the issue, I have CI through DirecTV and get both teams feeds in HD for 99% of games.

Ya I know you're right it's Comcast, just illustrating why those of us forced to deal with that (can't get DirectTV in an Apt) would prefer a vs game than a SD non-Ranger feed.

I hear ya...I think it was 2 seasons ago Dolan wasn't providing the HD feed to CI, and I would watch the opposing teams HD feed. Once you've seen a game in HD, it's almost unwatchable in SD.

will peeps stop whining about VS? Beninati was canned by them ages ago. It'll either be the excellent Dave Strader or Doc.

do any of you ever watch VS hockey games other than the Rangers?

I like Doc, but it seems that while he is neutral, he puts more emphasis into the home team. I've watched highlights on NHL.com of games on Versus and he seems more enthusiastic when the home team scores, delivers a big hit, etc...

I never had an issue with the VS. announcers... Do they hate on the Rangers or something? It's nice seeing some of our players recognized by commentators other than Sam & Joe...

And speaking of Sam... Does anyone else notice that the audio feed on MSG is slightly ahead of the video feed? What I mean by that is that I'll be watching, and someone will take a shot on goal, and Sam is more or less announcing a goal, a post, or a shot, at the exact same timing that it's happening on my TV monitor... There's no delay that you would normally expect someone to have when watching something transpire.... It's like Sam is announcing a shot off the post just as the shot is hitting the post.... Weird but definitely noticeable.

Since I can't edit: With the home team's crowd/goal horn, it makes it easier for him to get all giddy and yell at the top of his lungs. When the away team scores, he doesn't really do much.

Are you going through a receiver for your audio? You might be getting some delay that can be adjusted.

I'm not crazy about Doc either. I don't like all the cutesy phrases and find his delivery annoying as hell.

The best one is "into the goalie's paraphernalia", as opposed to equipment... He goes all Walt Frazier with the vocabulary

Ah good call that's probably it... I am feeding my audio/video through my Marantz receiver.
