Nothing is worse than Pittsburgh announcers or Boston's Jack Edwards, that's for sure.

As part of their national broadcast team. He still announces caps games on versus.

do any of you ever watch VS hockey games other than the Rangers?
Do you? Beninati still does games on versus sometimes when it's the caps playing.

Not positive, but I think that's only when it's a non-exclusive game and they carry the Caps' Comcast feed. Versus has only shown two Caps games this season and that was the case for both of them.

I agree, they are both incredibly bias. However the two are polar opposites. Steigerwald rarely shows emotion, but if the Pens score he kind of gets excited. Edwards on the other hand yells the entire time and is by far the biggest homer announcer throughout the entire league.

Steigerwald and Beninati are very similar. Have no emotion towards the other team, but when the pens or caps score, the roof comes off.

I think those games with Beninati are just games being feeded onto Versus from CSN Washington and not Beninati actually calling the game on Versus. They let him go last year.

Because they played like crap against the Islanders, I see a very good Rangers team for tonights game.

The need to be better and each time they have come across a situation in which they needed to put forth a better efford, they usually do.

With the Caps Defence in the shape that they are in right now, we can see a scenario in which we work the hell out of them down low and force them into mistakes and penalties.

Tonight we are going to need the PP to click as I can envision getting a few this evening.

Tonight is a big game. They need to come out and play big.

Washington is 11-5 at home, so it's not going to be an easy game. They just can't win on the road

I believe the Hurricane's announcer also does some games on VS. The guy that always sounds like a dying horse after a goal, "he scoreeeeeeees"

This guy (he scoreeeeeees )

I don't know what gives you the idea Versus will be picking up the CSN Washington feed. Even when Versus has games that are NOT exclusive, they produce their own broadcast this year. Besides, this one is exclusive.

Also, listening to his voice and knowing how small he is, it's just not right, every time I hear that deep annoying voice I think of what he looks like and I just say to myself, "wtf"
This. A thousand times this.

Well that's part of the beauty of a message board right?

Anyway, in the past, I've gotten the impression that certain announcers and commentators on the network were more than a shade biased. Keith Jones and Beninati come to mind. At times it can lean towards being a home broadcast for the team the Rangers are playing, but that's just me I guess.

Ironically, the guy who I think tends to be the toughest but the most fair is Milbury.

Another Big Game. LGR!!

My bad...I started the whole Caps broadcast team thing, I mixed up VS with NHL Network, when the Rangers are on NHL Net they rarely choose the MSG broadcast. I guess 3 cups of coffee weren't enough this morning.

Send a message via AIM to BlueShirts88
24/7 should start right after the game ends! Unless we go to OT, in which case HBO should delay the start of it
