I was almost certain he was not going to score. Richards, a great player, but he is terrible in this situation. He is taking penalty and shootout shots just like he would have had two players chasing him. The team should have had the chance to pick what they want: PS or powerplay.

Under Murray, they'd have Kopitar matched against Toews.
At some point you have to trust at least one of your bottom Six lines to match up.

Terry wouldn't do that (This year) I understand why he wouldn't though, he couldn't get those bottom guys to play well.

Good period by the Kings.. Would have liked another goal, a 1 goal lead doesn't feel like much against a team like the Hawks.

And you would have been perfectly fine if Sutter chose to take the powerplay, given how poorly it's been for the Kings, over giving Richards the free breakaway?

I haven't noticed Williams do anything right in over a month
His only goal lately was on a weird bounce off a seam in the glass right onto his stick. In other words he needed luck to score one.

There are multiple reasons those bottom six lines couldn't be trusted, especially the fourth.

A. Colin Fraser missed half the season.

B. Brad Richardson and Trevor Lewis, all they can do is skate mindlessly as fast as humanly possible and pretty soon they're going to be skating really fast either in Manchester or after being waived onto another NHL club.

C. Kyle Clifford had his head up his ass.

Fraser in the picture, Richardson and Lewis off the bottom six, and Kyle Clifford being used by a coach who LOVES players like him = profit?

IS FSW obligated to show either a PSA about drug use or programs depicting drug use?

Yep. Funny thing is both Richards and Toews failed on that play. Toews goes for the take down misses and Richards was not trying to go down toepicked. It just happened all at once to make it look like a take down.

I liked the second period, even before the goal.

BTW, odds for Richardson getting the Richardson-Stoll hat-trick: three stupid penalties in one game?

Clifford's dad is a pretty big man, you can see the genetics at work with his kid.

It's ok, he's 1-1 in the playoffs which is when it really matters

I hate penalty shots and shootouts though cause the shooter usually over thinks it anyway. A guy like Richards does better when it's just instinctual on a breakaway.

Question, does a penalty shot count as a shot on goal?
