At least Toews wasn't whining about the refs.

#Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews - '(The Kings) wanted it. They had that desire out there and we didn't match it.' #LAKings

Very good game. Still a little concerning because Quick had to absolutely play out of his mind and we still couldn't score more than 2 against a defensively soft team, but obviously we can't complain. At least we took an offensively elite team, forced them to play our game, and shut them down. Very satisfying win. Let's keep things progressing forward! Onto the next game, GO KINGS!
Gotta call ******** here...

Quick did absolutely stand on his head, by no means did he steal the game,

Crawford did the same exact thing, if Crawford didn't play lights out, that's a 4-5 goal game by LA.

How dare the Kings play physically in front of the precious and sacred Blackhawks net. I guess they failed to get that memo that they're not supposed to take it to the best team in the NHL.

Despite the good results, would you guys say Sutter has had a noticeable effect on the team?

Holy ****, I'm going to agree with smjay on this. The Kings matched the Hawks tonight. Quick made some great saves, but this was a team effort and a team shutout.

Kings created some outstanding chances and skated their ***** off. I almost passed out when I saw Penner on the PK, but it worked.

This is the kind of effort that Sutter is able to get in just his 4th game. Murray couldn't do it in 3+ years. Loved the play of the 4th line and Hunter deserved that goal. Clifford was so excited, it was fun to watch.

Tonights game could have gone either way and I would been happy with the effort even if the Kings lost. I'm ecstatic with the win tonight.

Sutter for the Jack Adams.

They've been noticeably more aggressive than they were under Murray. The forecheck has been so much better. They also seem to support each other by giving the player with the puck more options to make a pass.

The fact that Sutter actually coaches the players on the bench during the game is an added bonus.

Atleast our third line isn't impotent and completely useless for 60 min. like earlier in the season.

A lot of opposing teams' fans have said that over the years about Quick. Maybe he's just, ya know, good? It's no accident he makes unbelievable saves.

Yeah, I don't think Quick was lucky tonight. He had a very strong positional game tonight. He was under control on a lot of saves tonight.

I was still nervous until the very end though. Kings couldn't even score an empty net goal 5-on-5.

A very noticeable effect. They're entering the offensive zone with speed and maintaining puck possession, and there are forwards going to the net. NOTHING like how they were playing under Murray.

(on shutting out the high-powered Blackhawks…)

QUICK: “That took four lines, six D and a goalie. That was a big effort by everybody. I thought we were outplaying them there in the first two periods. We were getting the better of them, because of which we jumped out to a two-goal lead there. You know that when you come into this building, it’s only a matter of time before they put pressure on you and create chances. That’s a talented group over there. We were fortunate to weather the storm and get out of here with two points.’’

Still would like to see Bernier play tomorrow. Kings need to get him some goal support.

Was anyone else pooping their pants when Richards went head-first into the back of the net?

Well, that is pretty sad.

Perhaps the Blackhawks need to hire more knowledgeable sportscasters.

Or at least ones that do their homework.

Only one that matters. That was also a crazy celebration by him afterwards, too.

Seriously.

Text I received from a friend back East watching the Hawks' feed: "Blackhawks have an idiot announcer: 'looking at the Blackhawks stats and rankings it's clear that they win games by out scoring their opponents.'"

Really? Is that how you win games?
