Forbort struggled today but he wasn't terrible. The 2nd goal was completely his fault. The only other bad thing I can think of is when he got outworked before Gibson let in that terribad goal. Forbort definitely has work to do, but he wasn't the reason the US lost today.
I'm really disappointed how Forbort is playing. Mostly he just floats around and doesn't compete enough. He is not willing to take a hit or give a hit - he seems to be a pure stickchecker. He needs to change his attitude a lot - I mean A LOT - if he wants to be professional hockey player.

I agree. It's so frustrating how Forbort is 6'5 yet he plays like he's 5'10. He's great with his stick, (that's what she said) but he has to pick up the physicality if he wants to succeed. He has all the tools to do it, but he's not playing to his full potential.

Consensus on the WJC thread is that he has been terrible.
Hopefully he is still feeling the after affects of mono from last year. If not the kings should be VERY concerned. At this point he just doesn't do anything well at all.
Down goes Forbort. Looks like it could be a lower body injury. He got smacked into the boards pretty good. He's needing help to the bench, not skating on his own. Does not look good for him. Petr Straka, who initiated the hit, receives a 5-minute major and is out of the game.
Good news is that Forbort stays on the bench, but he clearly appears to be in pain. Never mind that bit of good news, now he's going to the locker room.
This US junior team has been quite a disappointment. I had an inkling that people would get too optimistic after they blew up for 11 goals against a weak Denmark team. Since that game they've scored only three goals in two games.
They've been badly outplayed in the third period by the Czechs. Quite a few Czech players have stood out in this game, Filippi and Sekac for instance. Wonder if their stock goes up based on their performance.
At least Forbort will be used to the unsuccessful shoot on sight mentality if and when he makes it to Los Angeles. Too bad there are no Denmarks in the NHL.
Which is why I made the Hal Gill comparison, not physical, big body who can use his reach and long stick to block passes and get in the way of shots. Not expecting much more out of him. But in all fairness to Forbort, the entire team stunk. They were porous defensively and it was evident even in the Denmark game. None of the defenders played physically which made it easier for skill forwards to get behind them.
