He seems like a pretty cool guy. Him and his five faces ha ha. Strange though, if he signed a long term contract in Philadelphia, why would he move his family into New Jersey? Doesn't make sense.
Awesome episode though. Gaborik was the man. Lugging the tree up there.
Surprised to see young kids like Giroux not go home to see his family for XMAS too.
Flyers practice rink is in Jersey, most of the team lives in Jersey near the practice facility. 20 minutes tops to the Wells Fargo Center.
Hartnell might be the only one left that lives in the city. At one point Carter, Richards, Lupul and Upshall also lived in Olde City.
Giroux lives about as far north in Ontario as you can get. Not an easy place to get into and out of. Not really feasible with just 2 days off.
Gabby was definitely my favorite part, cool to see him buying a xmas tree at my whole foods on greenwich (which is also around the block from avery's bar warren 77 which is right behind me im on chambers) I wonder what other Rangers are in my area.
Favorite line had to be Richards to Sestito "this is like fantasy camp for you" haha
Also loved the sweater party (hammered Boyle as Buddy the Elf) and Girardi's kid taking his first skate.
Plus some nice WINS.

As much as I love the inside look it gives into the team, I really wish they'd stop showing game highlights and stick to the behind the scenes stuff. If I want game highlights I'll go to nhl.com, when I'm watching this show I want to see more things like gaborik carrying a tree on his shoulder LOL

I like to hear what the players say in-game.
Rupp and Richie to Sestito was ****ing hilarious. Rupp to Raffi Torres last episode was also really funny. I think they should show more of that.

Yeah, but for the non-regular fans the actual hockey is probably pretty exciting -- and I will, and probably many with me, will keep these episodes and watch 5/10/15 years down the road. Then the highlights will be fun as heck too.

It was a good episode. Better than the 2nd. I want to comment on a number of different things, but I can't, because the only part I actually remember is Brandon Prust's girlfriend. Good lord. I'm thinking about leaving this message board to join one dedicated to her.
In all seriousness, the little moment between Cally and Johnny Cakes where they're talking about the play involving Jagr was awesome. I wish they'd have more of those moments. The Christmas party was hilarious, wish they had shown more of that (especially Prust's girlfriend, if she was in attendance). The Rupp and Richards chirps were great, and of course, Bryzgalov at Home was a nice touch, as well.
This episode was the best so far IMO. It really shed some light on Rupp's role on the team for me. I heard Torts talk him up a lot but I was never quite sure why. I knew he was big and willing to fight but I din't realize that Torts and the rest of the team really looked at him with that enforcer attitude. Torts said something in the second intermissions in the Flyers game to the effect of "play them hard, if things get out of hand, Rupper will drop them" and then of course you see him on the ice and he's chasing after and chirping at every Flyer who is throwing their weight around. That was all pretty surprising to me. I knew he was willing to fight but I didn't think it was such a huge part of his game. I guess they finally found the heavyweight that can play a decent game.
Also, its really hard not to like Giroux as I watch these episodes. He's got a great attitude and obviously a ton of skill. Bryz seems pretty good at not letting poor play get to his head too, which was impressive in a way. If Hank let in 6 or however many it was, he wouldn't be cracking jokes in front of the camera the next day... I don't know if one way is better than the other but its an interesting contrast.
