Sure he wasnt really good yet, i said this myself few times, BUT you can NOT expect any decent numbers with such BAD defensive play we have atm.

and i agree with SgtJoseph's last post

PS:and for some ppl here.. im czech i dont really like russians, yet im defending Bryz becuase he doesn't deserve such bashing
no you are right. his numbers are fine for a NHL goaltender

nop they are not, but my point is we all over looked our really bad defence, nearly not a single word to our defence, all should be saved by Bryz becuase he has fat contract is flawed assumtion

nobody ignores the flaws or mistakes of the defense. But that does not excuse the Leighton-like numbers of Bryzgalov

thing is ppl here actually do ignore defence mistakes. Yes we had lot of shots yesterday, but i cant say their defence did any mistakes yestereday, while they didnt have as many shots but our defence wasnt there. and here you go you have apple and oranges, and your comapring these as goalies stats.

So is tukka rask as good as Thomas? They have similar stats...

I'm not saying goalies don't have blame, in saying you are not going to see that at all in a box score or stat sheet.

Shootouts tell you more, but even those are flawed stats because not all shots end up on net, shooters lose pucks ect which have less to do with the goalie.

I dont think defensive mistakes are ignored. how often are we constantly pointing out mistakes made by Carle,Coburn, Mez ect ect. defensively mistakes were made, but it seems like every single mistake one of our defenseman make that leads to a good scoring chance it ends up in the back of the net. It would be nice if our goalie would make a big save for once? you know the type of saves Bob was making in Dallas when the outcome was still on the line? He made some huge saves for us that night.
Point being that the Flyers are paying Bryzgalov a lot of money to stop the puck. Asking him to step up and make that big save when needed is not asking for much.

nobody is as good as Thomas. Rask has good numbers because are you ready for this? he makes saves when he has to. When Chara was out they had back, to back to back nights where they allowed 40 shots or more. I believe Boston won them all.
your defenseman arent always going to be in position every single time.
I am not blaming Bryzgalov for everything here but when you have the type of numbers he has blaming the defense will only hold so much water.
he is very fragile mentally right now. nevermind the fact that he is a mess positioning wise right now.

Shots are not an indicator for anything. Shots from the outside are pretty routine.
The B's play EXCELLENT team defense. Chara is huge, but without him they still play a great system. And...they can score too.
