Hey guys, Rangers fan coming in peace. Going to Philly for the first time for the Winter Classic. How much of a hard time will i get wearing any Rangers gear to the game or around the area. If i'm going to get severely harassed I wont go through the trouble of wearing it. I can deal with some razzing, but I just wanna have a good time.

I understand the rivalry and don't want to be made fun of for this post. The friend im going with is worried and that's why i'm asking.

If someone says something to you just laugh it off. Don't let it escalate. If you don't fire back you should be fine.

Absolutely laugh it off. The second you start jawing back, it gets under the skin, especially if the Rangers are winning. And it may not spur a reaction out of anyone for a while, but if it gets to a boiling point, it won't be pretty.

Laugh it off and just enjoy it. Most fans just want to get a reaction out of you, and if they see you reacting poorly, it'll get worse. But if you laugh it off, people are quick to have fun with you.

I'm not concerned about losing - I'm concerned we'll get embarrassed like 8-0.

It looks like that section is pretty much all partially obstructed. You might get lucky in seats 1-5. They should just remove the foul poles

The excitement just all of a sudden hit me that i'm going to the winter classic. Section 117 row 15 seat 4 and 5. This is gonna be the greatest freakin thing ever.

I know this feeling of excitement! Looking forward to watching this great rivalry out in the open.

Quick question, are they planning to build anything in front of the CF seats they built? Like TV towers or anything? I'm in 150 Row S and just wondering if anything will be in my way. Just wondering if anybody has heard anything locally.

Two TV towers that are going to be pretty low -- yet still may provide some obstruction around Center Ice. Your major obstruction is going to come from the near boards cutting off about 1/3 of actual ice surface visibility from your shallow vantage point. Players on the bench, and camera crews will be an added factor. But your seats are Center Ice so you will have a nice spot. Have fun.

Alright thank you! Just looking forward to being there! Some obstruction I figured, but glad nothing like a giant TV tower will be in the way.

Thanks again for the answer.

Don't know if anyone caught this but the Empire State Building colored itself up for the two teams. Thought it was cool they included the Flyers rather than just sticking 100% Rangers.

As much as I'd like to think us Flyers fans are extremely classy, I have seen my fair share of fights at the WFC over the years.

Does anyone know if there will be any public skates at CBP? I would love to have the chance to skate on that ice. I've searched around a bit, but my google fu has failed me.

But the fun doesn’t end there. Lesser-known games and events are planned and are much more economically friendly.

On Wednesday, La Salle High School faces off against Malvern Preparatory School in their own Winter Classic at 5 p.m. After they are finished, the stadium will clear out before Penn State University takes on Neumann University at 8.

The next night, college hockey returns as Drexel squares off against Villanova at 7.

General admission tickets to the high school and college games are $10. They are available, while they last, on www.comcasttix.com. Type “Citizens Bank Park” in the search bar.

Event organizers are also offering the opportunity for people to take part in a public skate at the rink. Seven hourlong sessions will be held on two days: at 7 and 8:15 p.m. on Jan. 3, and at 9:45 and 11 a.m., and 6:30, 7:45 and 9:15 p.m. on Jan. 7.

The cost is $60 for adults and $40 for children 14 and younger. For non-skaters, entrance to the park and access to the field is $10. Those without tickets will not be permitted in the stadium.

Visitors are expected to bring their own skates. Free parking for sessions will be offered in Lot P. Tickets for skating sessions can also be purchased through www.comcasttix.com, while they last.

SEPTA is offering free rides on the Broad Street subway for Monday’s Flyers-Rangers game courtesy of Pepsi MAX. The rides are valid only on the Broad Street line from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Outside the stadium, the NHL will host the Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic Spectator Plaza, a free festival featuring interactive hockey-themed attractions, live music and contests. The plaza will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday. Gates will open two hours before game time.

Thanks, I think I'll pass. $20 seems pretty reasonable. $60? F that.

You're right. I mean, it is everyday that you get to ice skate outdoors at a professional baseball stadium in Philadelphia.
