Clemmensen gets the start; guaranteed 35 save shutout.

Let's get back to our winning ways tonight. LGR!

Which discounts their goaltending and defense, and other teams goaltending and defense as well.

I expect a loss tonight. It seems these borderline teams seem to have our number. See: Toronto

This isn't baseball.

This. It's like everyone who uses Sabremetrics for hockey are just jealous that baseball has cooler stats than hockey. There's way more variables in hockey that make comparing certain stats almost impossible.

So what are the projected lines for tonight? Same as last game or is WW back in the line-up?

I can understand stuff like QUALCOMP, QUALTEAM and possibly GA/60, or GF/60.

It really tells you what players get sheltered minutes.

We wouldn't be the 3rd seed in the East without goaltending so I'm not sure what your point is.

Our goaltending #'s are solid and that includes games where we've allowed 8 with an injury-depleted lineup against Boston and 6 against you guys at MSG. Take away those two anamolies, and our goaltending #'s for the season are rather superb.

The only area of the game we've really struggled in is the PK. The PK was like top-10 about a week and a half ago though before all of our forwards got hurt. Specifically, Bergenheim and Sturm.

I'm saying in general, hockey sabre stats completely ignore defense and goaltending.

Didn't we just go 6-1 without him anyway?

Is Sean Avery like the Tim Tebow of the NHL?

This love fest for Avery is ridiculous and the fact some people think we will be worse without him. We were doing fine without him recently.

If borderline teams lead divisions for majority of the season, I'll take it

Avery is so clutch we were winning when he wasn't even in the lineup. Now that he's in Connecticut it's a guarantee we go under .500 the rest of the year.

It'll be called the Curse of the Avesbino and we won't win a cup for the next 70 years.

Yep.

Why did Sedin's have their breakout seasons in their 30's? Because of sheltered minutes. They start in the offensive zone something insane like 70% of the time.

Why did Kesler win the Selke? Because of sheltered minutes. He started in the offensive zone as much as Gaborik last year and was able to pot the needed 40 goals for that defensive award..

Why did those guys get such sheltered minutes? Because Manny Malhotra starts in the offensive zone 20% of the time..
