He's ok as a number 7. Someone needs to ride the pine and handle emergency duty.

Sadly, he could probably get a fulltime role on another team, so it's probably best to move him and get a cheap vet for that role.

Sounds like Green is back very soon and now Eakin is back up. Smells like a trade is in the works. Gotta think Sarge is the best candidate to go...

Playing Columbus tonight and that is a team that has been hit hard by injuries, the latest being defenseman Wisniewski breaking his ankle the other day. I believe Martinek and Huselius are also out with injuries. We have somewhat of a history of trading with Columbus, i.e Chimera for Clark/Jurcina. Please oh please, I could care less about what the return might be, addition by subtraction is all that matters when it comes to 55.

Maybe a Ward/Schultz for Vermette, with Eakin taking Ward's spot.

What I don't get is this. Why announce the callup that early if you're making it in connection to some sort of deal? Why not just announce it publically once the deal is done?

Personally, I think they want to give Perreault more time off to recover and don't want to play Beagle back-to-back, but that's just a gut feeling and will probably be contradicted very soon by Hunter's line combos.

You're probably right on Eakin just rotating in for MP and Beagle.

Still, when Green comes back (next week some say) we have 8 dmen.

He would be fine as #7 D if his cap hit wasn't $2.75 mil.

Sarge: why am I the only one staying at the extended stay hotel in Columbus?

DH: Just go bed to Jeff. We'll talk in the morning.
