I wonder how the Flyers internally rank Bourdon vs. Gustafsson vs. Lilja and what impact that has on the way they eye the trade market.

My suspicion is that it's
1. Gustafsson
2. Lilja
3. Bourdon

If we could trade Lilja, we would hopefully do it in an instant, preferably in a package with Matt Walker for futures.

I was thinking in terms of acquiring a defensemen who could be responsible for taking on more minutes, not trading one away.

Gustafsson is paired with Kevin Marshall tonight:

Defensive pairs:
Gustafsson/Marshall;
Jancevski/Kessel;
Lauridsen/Eddy.

Lines:
Wellwood/Holmstrom/Testwuide;
Hamel/Roe/Akeson;
McGinn/Kalinski/Sestito;
Rowe/Brown/Harper.

They are looking to add defensive depth and not to trade anyone.

We could have

Timonen
Mystery defensemen
Coburn
Carle
Meszaros
Gustafsson
Bourdon

and Marshall could be brought up if necessary.

We don't really need more than 8 defensemen unless a virus starts going around.

any word if Eric is going to play for the flyers this week?

He had 3 assists in the 2 games on the 30th and 31st were those to get him ready for the Classic and save cap room?

I hope it goes like this:
1. Gus
2. Bourdon
3. Lilja

Lilja as a 7th as he should be

I'd go

Timonen-Coburn
Meszaros-Gustafsson
Carle-Bourdon
Lilja

until we can (hopefully) add a dman. Depending on who that is and how they've played until then, one of Bourdon and Gustafsson is sent down to be the first callup.

The latest is he missed practice today (Jan. 3) with the Phantoms due to an illness.

Sestito could miss the Phantoms' outdoor game due to an upper body injury.
