The future of Mats Zuccarello

Anyone have any information on his progression? Will he make squad next year? What's his ranking amongst rangers prospects?

Thanks

His contract is up after the year. Not sure if he's an RFA but I doubt he'd resign here if he's not called up.

With the phenomenal play of Hagelin IMO its bleak. I always believed Zucc would get a call up but we have a log jam of forwards as it is and there is no reason to mess with the team chemistry. Not to mention Mitchell has played really well. When Wolski comes back Mitchell and Christensen will be healthy scratches.

Zuke will be dealt at the deadline, in a perfect world in a package for a rental LW and at the very least for a draft pick or prospect

Hopefully he's moved. I don't think he's an NHL player, and I don't want him anywhere near this team. Sorry, I just don't. He's not good.

Where and when has he proven he can play at the NHL level?

In fact, he's proven he can NOT maintain an NHL position

He has had all of a half season to prove himself. I think he can do it. I never said he is going to be an NHL all star its just my opinion that he can if in the right system, which is what I said.

Holy overreaction Batman.

do i think mats will find himself a job in an nhl top 6, yes
with the rangers no

he has a lot of skill but hes still somewhat of a project and with the way the rangers are playing are the fact that our top 6 is filled with bonified top 6 players theres no room for a guy thats still somewhat of a project like zucc. that said i see him deffinitally getting moved at the deadline either for a LW or a pick but either way for something because hes an RFA at seasons end and hes not going to want to come back to and try to play again here.

I desperately hope he replaces either Wolski or Fedotenko.

There is a whole lot of people here making statements withouth having seen a single Whale game, thats what I think.
Do I think he has a future with NYR? No.
Do I think he could be traded and do I think he could be a top 6 with a team playing a different the Rangers?yes.

watching him in the nhl is a much better way to guage his play, the ahl should be a joke for a guy with his skill.

You have no idea what it means to have guys like Feds on your team come playoff time, do you?

He is better than both. Calling him "soft" is bs. If you have seen him play you know he goes after anyone, size dosnt matter.
He wont get a chance though, he will be traded. Good for whoever gets him.

yes indeed, but a year in NA gives room for a whole lot of development.
3 games in the NHL for a team that sucked and was plauged with penalties.... I dunno how much you should put into that
A joke? i dunno, but he scored more points that Hadglin in a fraction fo the games played. He is stil third in points having played about 10 games less than the Whale point leaders.

Can you really say with a straight face he should be in the rangers lineup over Hagelin?

Not even comparable.

And once again, Feds is valuable in the bottom six for a team that is looking to make a run. His cups should speak for themselves along with hi playoff performances. As much as clutch is a joke to many around here, to win a cup you need guys like Feds on your team.

yea but this rangers team doesnt have a year to let him develop... and it should be pretty easy for a guy that should "definitely be a top 6 guy" like some claim he should be at the nhl level... and hagelin can kill penalties, play a great two way game and has already figured out how to play in the nhl coming from the NCAA, hes also producing consistently and making something happen every time hes on the ice the exact opposite of zucc. yea u can say he plays hard and throws his body around, but all 175 lbs of him doesnt do much in the corners im sorry but hes not at all suited for a bottom 6 roll in the nhl which is the only oppurtunity for him on the rangers, hagelin if hes not producing can play bottom 6 simple as that.
Hagelin>zucc AINEC if you disagree your havent a clue. along with feds who does a lot for this team that doesnt show up on the stat sheet, and who will REALLY help this team come playoff time now that were a serious threat.

Nope i can not, and I never said that. How could anyone say that? Haglin has been a huge success and a great call up.
What I am saying is that there is a ******** of so called "experts" claiming to know what is going and with the NYR prospects and they have no clue because they are too cheap to buy a AHL game.

And Hagelin has scored more NHL goals in overwhelmingly less games. Including short handed.

I don't think he has a future with our organization. Either he's traded by the deadline or he goes back to Europe after the season.
