He's better than Perrott and Tjärnqvist. Even struggling, he's outproducing them combined.

Gee, looks like Doug Armstrong is quite high on Finnish forwards...

Maybe I should fax my CV to him also

Hagman can skate like the wind, but can't hit the net. That's a shame... same thing with Konstantin Koltsov.

I don't think that's a major problem seeing as how scoring won't be his first or even secondary role. Still, he's scored 10 goals in his rookie or sophomore season, now I'm not going to expect 10 goals, but he is capable of doing so. He and Ott should form a nice duo on our last line. Tjärnqvist and Perrot will likely compete for the final spot, but who Tippet picks also depends on the opponent ofcourse.

I think it's a small, but wonderful deal. I can't believe why anyone would hate it - 10 reasons:

01 - He's Finish..
02 - Stars are weak at LW
03 - Hagman > Tjärnqvist/Perrot
04 - He's Finish..
05 - He costed us a mere 7th round pick
06 - Hagman "only" makes 650k
07 - Hagman is a great skater
08 - Hagman is Finish..
09 - Hagman works hard and consistently. All you can ask for out of a 4th liner.
10 - Did I mention he's Finish?

I'd like him a lot better if he were only Finnish.

Tjarnqvist Perrot and Svoboda have a total of two goals. Can't see why will not help. No big deal Tjarnqvist is sent back down and incremental cost is minimal

It was his rookie season, playing 13 minutes per game, including 2 and a half minutes on special teams. Going by the numbers, I guess he played on the 3rd line pretty consistently.

Svoboda is much like Hagman I think, only Hagman works a lot harder. Both are decent players to have on your 4th line, even though they're not overly physical. Plus, both are still in their early to mid twenties and might not have peeked yet.

Don't mind to see Tjärnqvist being sent down either. He's a decent player, but very limited.

Hmm.. Just thought that this move might also indicate that Jussi Jokinen's injury might be worse thane expected. A lower-body injury is a pretty wide and vague description..

Ah well, probably wrong..

I don't think anyone mentioned that he's a very good penalty killer.

I wasn't joking about the misspelling actually, but about the fact that you kept saying he was Finnish.

Congratz on a great deal. This is such a huge steal. You'll love Hagman. One of the hardest working players around. He has potential to be a good two-way 15-20 goal scorer. I think he'll atleast pot 10 goals for you rest of the season. He's a great PK killer too.

Jokinen's injury is a groin injury. It doesn't sound serious since he's skating, but they're probably just being careful with it.

The real question is CAN he finish?

We all liked him a lot here in Florida and you'll soon agree he's plenty of fun to watch. The long and short of it is Nik will work hard every shift and create at least a few scoring chances each game, but never finish on any of 'em. He's been tried extensively on the top line, the 2nd, 3rd and finally, where he fits best. He won't hurt you defensively and over the course of a season he'll chip a few in. Enjoy him Stars fans, and best of luck Nik.

I agree that Hagman is a hard working player and all, but I can't see him scoring 20 goals ever. He is good on a PK too, but stars already have good PK players. I don't know what role Hagman is supposed to play? He is a 4th liner, but is he any better than the current stars 4th liners..maybe in his work ethic and he is faster.

Mogo just keeps surprising me...he seems to love Hagman, but for example Selänne is a **** player in his book...

I only hope Hagman doesn't take playing time away from Jokinen or Miettinen, who are both better players than Nikke.

hagman have much potential. he's a big talent, i think and i would be very happy when he comes to play for my favourite club. he played here in switzerland at the lockout and he's a so pretty funny guy! i watched his play and he has speed and his shorthanders were very beautiful. when he can skate alone to the goali he make the goal for sure (mostly). he played here with Joe Thornton and Rick Nash, i think he had learn mutch from this two guys. in florida he didn't find his form, so i hope the best for him in dallas and i hope he find his form yet.
