You know it's funny, I almost forgot about those games that Pock played in '04. But then I remembered after reading this that piece that MSG did on him coming into to sign his contract then putting on his uniform.

Pock (pronounced poke)
I'd say it's pronounced more like 'perk', but shorter. Also, it should properly be written either Pck or Poeck (if you can't write the diaresis).

(In case you guys haven't noticed, I have a pet pieve about learning how to pronounce players' names correctly).

That announcer is waaaaay off then. The letter is pronounced like the 'e' sound in 'the' (not thee).

German also has a written convention for letters with a diaresis, that they can be written two ways, either , , or ae, oe, ue. Other languages don't have this rule, so while it is correct to write Olaf Koelzig, it is wrong to write Teemu Sellaenne.

From reading this article, I think it is fairly obvious that he is not ready for the NHL yet. If we want someone who can play forward, and the occasional shift on point for the PP, maybe he's an injury callup, but it seems clear that he has a way to go before becoming a capable NHL defender.

So I have no idea why people are pencilling him in as "ready to play D on the Rangers, sit/trade defenseman X now!"

ways to go? the guy seems pretty solid to me and his short stint in 04 was pretty impressive.

What has Lampman been doing? I remember a couple of games in the beginning of the season he was pretty solid.

Take a step back and read what the coaches are saying about him.

Surely, his offense has been impressive, and that is exactly what the coaches are saying. There is more to playing defense at the NHL level than getting points.

How do we get the "sideways colon" over the "o" again 007?

Lampman, I believe, is injured.

Lampman has not played since November 20. He is out with a shoulder injury, No word on when he will be back.
