Florida looks like it is imploding and returning to their cellar dweller status, needless to say it is almost impossible to say if the habs win or not. Florida could be playing terrible and the habs could go into the third with a 3 goal lead and still lose.
what's worse than new years eve with the future in-laws?
watching the habs lose to the Panthers on NYE
If your in-laws are panther fans. Wait. That's silly, they don't exist.
If they were leaf fans!
I was over at my friend's house in kitchener for a chirstmas event since I didn't end up going back to mtl cuz I have to work every day. The "grace" before the meal included "Go Leafs go, Habs suck". At my friend's wedding, his in-laws are huge leaf fans (the kind that are just mindless about it, it was one of their crappiest years) and the dad went on about how the Habs suck. Again, more that they hate us than they like the leafs.
This is why I urge you my friends, please support the miraculous playoff race! We cannot be on the other end of "at least we made the playoffs". For all the ex-pat Montrealer Habs fans out there. Please make the playoffs!
So sad and far from the truth. Averaging 16000 +, middle for the nhl, in a beautiful arena. In a city where there are great distractions.
Regardless, lets have an injury free game and those attending, respect your fellow hockey fan. We all love hockey.
His comment was a joke. We know that the Cats and some other "southern" NHL cities have a good amount of fans. We like to make jokes about it though. Just like Americans joke about Canadians in igloos saying "eh"

I'm off to the game pretty soon. Weather's perfect here. Hate to say it, but the Tampa game felt like a turning point. Despite the repeated lessons of not blowing a lead, despite a coaching change, despite having just turned around a five-game losing streak, the team goes right back to their bad habits and blows another one. I know this sounds sour, and I'm sorry, but I'm afraid this season will be characterized by what we've already seen: a few wins scattered between more losses. The chemistry's off, and I don't even think the players know why.
There's always hope, starting with tonight's fun 'home' game. Maybe I'll be proven totally wrong. But right now, I'm less excited than I should be about going to the New Years Eve game.
Habs lose in a blow-out.
Gallagher leaves the game (Canada/USA) after suffering a concussion from a big hit by Tinordi.
Nate shows up somewhere in South America, drunk as a sailor and demanding who stole his lucky paper bag.
