Del Zotto fined $2500

Didn't see this in any threads or posted anywhere so...

Del Zotto and Kopecky each fined $2500. Kopecky I can understand... Del Zotto? What did he do to get fined?

I'm sure this will degenerate into a bunch of "are you ****ing kidding me" posts, but MDZ deserved a fine for the cross check to the face. I'd question the fact that Kopecky didn't get a bigger fine but 2.5K is the max.

Brier did the same thing to us, but on purpose. He got off without a fine

i think MDZ hit kopecky with his stick on the back of the head which is why he was pissed at MDZ

I mean as much as I thought Rupp did the right thing in beating Kopecky while he was down after the Kopecky cheap shot, if anything Rupp deserved the fine not DZ.

But still. Shows the importance of a guy like Rupp last night and IMO Kopecky deserved a 1 game suspension.

It shows how much of a joke the NHL is.

If kopecky slashed MDZ instead, nobody gets fined.

Kopecky definitely deserved a suspension IMO. He's gonna need to keep his head up on the 5th.

If I remember correctly, a sucker punch similar to Kopecky's was thrown at Jeff Beukeboom and that was a major contributing factor in ending his career.

Also, the infamous Bertuzzi-Moore incident should not be forgotten. Moore has never fully recovered.

Don't understand why there was only a fine.

Del Zotto's been throwing it around pretty good this season. At some point a guy hits back. Would've prefered they squared off though. Each got what they deserved in game. As much as Kopecky needs to watch his back next game, so does Del Zotto.

That's the best 2500 bucks this team spent so far this season . I actually feel like coughing it up for DZ myself LOL . It was great to see Del Zotto whack him upside the head with the stick even though he was just trying to be physical and move him out of Hanks view...albeit with some attitude . It is good to see our DZ step up the physical stuff and add some nastiness to his arsenal .Other teams watch this stuff and now they know enough not to mess with us or we finally will respond as Rupp DID like he is supposed to in a 4-1 game and Torts played it further on the next shift by throwing out the big boys in a road game . That kind of stuff goes a long way on a TEAM !!! Gotta love having Stu around as well !!! Bring on the Broad Street Bullies...

That's great if Rupp is on the ice every time Del Zotto is. At some point he's gonna have to answer for himself and it may not be pretty.

Answer for himself? He got ****ing sucker punched. I have no doubt he'd be able to take a punk like Kopecky in a fight.

Settle down Beavis. I understand that. But if you're going to play tough you get played tough back. This time it was Kopecky. Next time maybe not. I love that he's playing tough. A little snarl is great. I just think he needs to pick his spots a little better. Up 4-1 with seconds to go? Clear him out with your stick down. Lower/mid back.

It would've been fine if kopecky challenged DZ to a fight, even grabbed him and made him fight if he refuses. They're both non-fighters.

Players don't just slack off and say "I better take it easy" because there's seconds left to go with a huge lead.

Any player who uses excuses to "take it easy" won't be in the NHL for too long.

I'm not strictly talking about Kopecky when I say "next time" Del Zotto plays it tough. And I agree with your comment.

Alright so thats how the NHL is going to work.

Let the boys know, in the last 10 seconds of the game find the best player on the ice on the other team and just sucker punch him. We won't be shorthanded since its the last 10 seconds and the team can split up the fine among themselves so it comes out to about $125 a head.

I guess they really are not serious about headshots after all.
