Disagree. If we really want to give up that contract spot we can let him walk at the end of the season as a RFA. Taking a 6th rounder or something back is pointless, we might as well keep him for depth unless Gillis needs that contract spot for some sort of other deal which is unlikely.

Sorry to open old wounds, but here is the moment Victor lost the respect of his teamates and fans:

I think people mistakenly think Oreskovich and Volpatti should be interchangeable, but they play different roles. There is no doubt Oreskovich has a better skill set than Volpatti, but until Oreskovich is prepared to stick up for teammates and drop the gloves, he's never going to take Volpatti's place on the team. Volpatti is also a smarter hockey player than Oreskovich and I think that goes a long way in AV's eyes.

Does he think hes a ****ing skill player or something? Ehrhoff and Sedin are in there and hes just holding a guy.

And with the number of 'way down the line' prospects we already have in the system and where this team is aspiring to be in the next couple years including this one...i don't see the point in adding a late round pick for a player who can serve as playoff depth right now and a roster player next year.

I'd be completely okay with swapping him for someone who can play now that doesn't have to pass through waivers. I'd be completely okay with throwing him in to a package for someone we can actually use, either on the roster, or as a waiver exempt 'close-to-ready' prospect. But to toss him away for the late round pick that he'd garner just seems like a waste of depth at this point.
Agreed. It'd have to be someone who can pass through waivers and can potentially help now. A late round pick doesn't help us. Unless it's a 3rd rounder or higher...

I really the kids energy and physicality but he can't fight and after his last game up I highly doubt we see him in a canucks sweater again.

His value is nothing, good for a few hits at home but a total chicken on the road, won't touch anybody and won't stick up for his teammates despite being a role player. Overrated offence and potential because Gillis talked him up.

He's an NHL/AHL tweener plug.

Well then I guess he's pretty damn useless isn't he. A big soft ''banger'' who can't fight to begin with and won't because of head injuries... great.

4th liner who can skate, hit and pass.

or Prospect who will make the Nhl who can do the above.

I would say to be optimistic his value is that of a throw-in on a bigger deal. Maybe a team could be fooled into thinking he's still a project. For the reasons above I can't see how he has any value to the Canucks.

If you check out his YouTube highlights from his season in Florida he hit hard and the players he was hitting were usually not scrubs.

Mind you in Florida there was not much structure so as you will note from the videos he is all over the ice - something that would not be tolerated in Vancouver.

Pathetic display by Oreskovich, the Sedins were probably excited that we might have gotten a power play though

Probably a 5th or a similar tweener player

He's big but doesn't do much (re: anything)

Isn't this what all anti-Canuck fans say when evaluating the series, that the final PP tally were near even, so the Canucks had no disadvantage.

Little do they point out (and correct me if I'm wrong, I try not to remember this series) that most of the Canuck's powerplays came in those Bruins blowouts when the score was out of hand. It made the numbers look reasonable, but it didn't mean much.
