Great win! I don't know if it means anything, but here's a neat stat from TSN - our power play may suck, but it's better than our opponents':
Quote:
Despite Williams' goal, the Kings are 3 for 47 on the power play over their last 13 games. Their opponents are 2 for 47 during that same stretch. Los Angeles has killed off 26 straight short-handed situations.

Couldn't watch the game tonight cause I was out for New Years but I like the final result. It's good to see Kopi got over the goal slump. Also, Richards got a double minor?

It was great to see the boys stick together against the most classless and gutless team in the NHL. Sutter is really a hands on coach and it was nice to see him reward Loktionov's line with some PP time.

I hope the two of them beat each other up so much that at the end they are both disheartened.

I hope it ends in a 0-1 total on an empty netter by Luongo accidentally when he comes out to the blue line to try and "support" his team.

I'll cheer the Sharks every time vs the Canucks, even though they are in our division.

you can use a lot of words to describe the Canucks... one of them is most definitely "CHEAP".

After watching tonight's game I realized the overall disrespect the Canucks really have, such a **** way to play..
Also, Cliffy has a bald spot :]

Watching the replay right now. LOL. The Canucks are hilarious. They play like the league owns that team something. It's quite pathetic.

A beautiful thing..and for him it had to feel like a weight was lifted after 17 games. And it couldn't have come at a better time. Your opponent cannot score on a 4 min penalty and as it ends, you score on them. That takes a lot of wind out of their sails. Just a great thing.

Don't the other Canucks ever get tired of the Sedins not defending themselves?
Who holds their handbags while the play?

The first goal the Nucks had showed a lot of skill. Then everything after that showed they were just a bunch of classless *****. Glad they lost. Doughty looked like he was enjoying himself tonight.

Richardson is quickly becoming our agitator. Penner didn't suck. Clifford will fight someone next time

Luongo...3rd star? Seems more like their albatross.

Was at the game tonight and what a game. The only thing I wanted besides a win was for Kopi to score and he did it in highlight reel fashion. It's tough to imagine a team as talented as the Canucks not stepping up and instead complaining for most of the game. I think Shellz said it best: they play like the league owes them something. Great win by the boys and you can definitely see the effect of Sutter on the team. He's slowly turning the ship around and it's already paying huge dividends. Happy New Year everyone!

Concur with this statement.

I definitely know now that I hate the Canucks and their fans more than The Sucks.

The Duck's rivalry with us is just sad now, its nothing i really look forward to, i dont see much hate anymore or physicality, but a game against the whiniest team in the NHL, biggest divers (kessler) and just some sheer hatred, i love a game against the canucks, and their cry wolf fans.

And i agree, richardson is becoming a target and im damn glad richardson is doing better. I always felt he can do much better and he has, its a joy to watch his speed and him becoming an agitator, it throws off players. those simple whacks he take after a whistle or when the puck is covered is a positive to me. he's getting attention. good job richardson and everyone else on the kings.

When you are at the game you don't always see the little things...just got finished watching the recorded game and saw where Ballard chickened out of going with Clifford one-on-one and then when Alpert took him down and he was pinned on the ice Ballard started cheap-shot punching him.

Absolutely outrageous. The NHL should be ashamed of itself if they don't address Ballard's chicken **** in some way...not sure it deserves a game suspension but that is absolutely embarrassing for the NHL...especially on "hockey night in Canada."

I was quite surprised to hear Bob criticizing the refs, I don't hear that often. But after those two decisions, it was well deserved.
