Seems like every year a new crop of Norwegian hockey players makes the jump over to the SEL, some make it, some don't but the more that make the move and succeed the better Norwegian hockey becomes.
Who is on their way to the SEL for 2011-2012 season?
I don`t think there are any new Norwegians going from Norway to SEL next season. But there is a few guys going to Allsvenskan and a few others that could make the jump next summer.
- Tommy Kristiansen has been in the spotlight of a few different SEL-clubs, he was in talks with newly promoted Växjö but decided to stay one more year in Norway because he felt he was not ready yet. He should be able to make it after next season tough. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=11959
-Ken Andre Olimb has had a good first season in Allsvenskan this year and has also had a great start to this years WC. He scored a great goal in todays game vs USA. He is a free agent as well so maybe some SEL clubs will notice him now. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=10886
- Mats Rosselli Olsen could be the next guy to get a shot. He was outstanding the second half of this years season and was also the last guy cut from this years WC-team. He was very impressive in the exhibition games before the WC He is a guy to watch out for next season. I know a few Swedish clubs have been scouting him. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=18116
- Andreas Martinsen has had a great season and is in my opinion ready for a bigger league. It did not work out for him in Sweden last time, but he has taken some huge steps this season. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=11958
-Mathis Olimb is going back to Frolunda after one year in the AHL for Chicago Blackhawks affiliate Rockford Icehogs. Mats Trygg was signed by HV-71 and is going back to SEL after 6 seasons in Germany. Sondre Olden will be knocking on the door in Modo`s senior team next year.

Thanks for the updates, I try to follow Norwegian and Swedish hockey here as close as possible, but it is difficult.
-Stefan Espeland has had a good season for Sundsvall in Allsvenskan. He is a good offensive D-man with good footspeed, but needs to bulk up and get better in his own zone. There have been rumours about Røgle looking at him. He should be playing in SEL within the next couple of years.

Ken Andre might be our next NHLer he is young and a great player. Perhaps a little like Espen Knutsen His only problem is that he is abit small :/
Ken Andre looked very good for Leksand the first half of this season, but pretty meh the later half. He has good hands, speed and is a fun player to watch but he can also be terribly ineffective. He should stay another year and develop in SEL-2 before moving on, since he got some real talent but needs to be much more consistant. If he ends up in SEL now, theres the risk of him being benched or getting low minutes, which would be awful for his development. He seems like the kind of player that should be a offensive threat and play PP, not burried way down some SEL-teams depth chart.
NHL might be a bit of a stretch, but who knows? He defenitely looks like he can turn in to a player of good european class at least.
I was not told wich team, but that he had gotten offers from both SEL and DEL clubs during the tournament in Slovakia. There is also a rumour going that he might head for USA. I don`t know at what level, but I suspect it is ECHL. I do not think that would be a smart move if he has other options in Europe.
I also think that he will be a very good player. He has all the tools, should work more on his skating but he has improved a lot over this season.
Could anyone give me the lowdown on Mats Rosseli Olsen? What are his strengths and weaknesses? How does he compare to Mathis Olimb?
His biggest strenghts are his skating and work ethic. He is fast and very strong on his skates. Very good in tight spaces on the ice and does not shy away from traffic. Needs to work on his consistency, but imo he is already far too good for the Norwegian league.
I can see the comparison to Olimb. But Mathis was a better stickhandler and dangler while Mats is a better skater and works harder than Mathis at the same age. I think Rosseli has a good chanse of being an impact player in the SEL next season.
Another thing about Rosselli is his great attitude. He probably works harder and logs more practice hours than any other Norwegian hockeyplayer (or athlete for that matter) in the summer.
I think he will play for Djurgården next season (maybee sooner). There has been some rumours about him going to Stockholm on a loan deal during christmas when a lot of the young DIF guys are in Canada for the World juniors.
Rosselli Olsen to Frølunda on loan for 4 games. According to his agent it`s up to Rosselli if he wants to join Frølunda or Djurgården on a permanent deal after the loan deal is over.
Edit: Apparently VG (Norwegian newspaper) was too fast on the trigger. Rosselli has turned the offer down and decided to stay in Norway for the remainder of this season.

Patrick Thoresen - Mathis Olimb - Mats Zuccarello
Per Åge Skrøder - Anders Bastiansen - Marius Holtet
Martin Røymark - Ken Andre Olimb - Mats Rosseli Olsen
Tommy Kristiansen - Kristian Forsberg - Robin Dahlstrøm
Jonas Holøs - Ole Kristian Tollefsen
Tommy Jakobsen - Mats Trygg
Stefan Espeland - Alexander Bonsaksen
Patrick Thoresen - Mathis Olimb - Mats Zuccarello
Per Åge Skrøder - Anders Bastiansen - Marius Holtet
Martin Røymark - Ken Andre Olimb - Mats Rosseli Olsen
Tommy Kristiansen - Kristian Forsberg - Robin Dahlstrøm

Tommy Jakobsen - Mats Trygg
Stefan Espeland - Alexander Bonsaksen
If I was picking the team it would look like this.
Patrick Thoresen - Mats Frøshaug - Mats Zuccarello
Mathis Olimb - Anders Bastiansen - Marius Holtet
Per Åge Skrøder - Mads Hansen - Martin Røymark
Lars Erik Spets - Kristian Forsberg - Tommy Kristiansen/ Martin Laumann Ylven
If one of the top line guys get injured Mats Rosseli would be the call up, if one of the bottom six guys get injured I would call up Andreas Martinsen from Lillehammer. Scott Winkler could also be a possibility, he has had a great season in NCAA. Morten Ask would probably have to play D like he did last year.
Ole Tollefsen - Jonas Holøs
Aleks Bonsaksen - Mats Trygg
Morten Ask - Henrik Solberg
Lars Østli
