It also sucks for Sabres fans who aren't exactly able to pay as much for DirecTV, and can't get games on TV any other way. Though TWC says sports fans can hang tough because we'll "still get 20% of the remaining games", like that's acceptable to us.

People being hopeful? lol. They said the same thing for FoodTV, Yes Network and Fox last year (Cablevision).

If I get Center Ice and League Pass, will TWC black out the away Knicks and rangers game in the Syracuse/Fort Drum area even though MSG is no longer provided?

Reason why i ask is because DTV has given me free center ice, sunday ticket and league pass before. If I complain enough and get the NHL and NBA packages to prevent me from dropping TWC altogether, will they black out those away feeds.

You would think they'd try to come to an agreement ASAP. Neither side can ill afford to be without Knicks/Sabres/Rangers/etc. broadcasts for an extended period of time.

This sucks. Both sides; babies and *****es

And then they try to tell me "oh well 30% of Rangers games will be on NBC/Versus". That doesn't help me much, I watch 100% of the games

TWC in Westchester has no MSG now. I'm boycotting all MSG and related events, subsidiaries and sponsors and not paying my TWC bill until this is resolved. What else can we do?

I'm not getting what I pay for.

Watch the games in a bar with DirecTV if your building isn't wired for FIOS or wait it out or switch if it's too long and you have options but MSG could pull out from another carrier..

This sucks.

I'm extremely upset by this because i live in appartment building in a crappy town in ny that only has twc available to me. i'm a big rangers fan and not having the option to switch to another network is really bothersome.

Switch to DirectTV if you can. TWC is absolute crap, overpriced, and offers less in terms of flexibility and availability for sports fans compared to DirectTV.

What can you expect from corporate giants? Their raison d'être is to bleed the public (consumer) dry. They're living in a layer at least several floors above our own. For a comparable the first real image I have of the Occupy protests are of the protesters on the street and the traders several stories above them drinking champagne--wish I could drink at work--and swapping jokes about the 'goofballs' down below. There you go. Those 'goofballs' are us whether we're out in the street or sitting at home watching the boob tube.

It's inconvenient but I remember when I first started following the Rangers in the early 70's--listening to radio broadcasts. Not as much fun for sure but the Marv Albert-Sal Messina broadcast duo was superior in just about every way to any television broadcast team from then to now.

Yeah im 43 was a STH FROM 1977 - 2007 with my Dad , have watched games from th ch 9 years to WHT years , listened to games on the radio off and on for years of course but this latest Money Grab move by MSG is about as bad as it gets . I'm going to wait as I catch a lot of games at the Firehouse on Fios ( we have DVR in case on runs ) or I guess have to go out and watch them . Not a fan of going to bars and watching games since the advent of HD TV IN MY OWN LIVING ROOM. Once again the Dolans prove they are ne'er do well robber baron buffoons

Wow. These people really are stupid. After sending a few emails this morning one of their moron reps replies telling me I will now have NBATV in place of MSG and NHL Network in place of MSG+. Also offering me some useless sports package for a month free. Guess what idiots, I ALREADY HAVE THOSE CHANNELS. Waiting for their next response.

For what it's worth, TWC is dropping Fox Sports South down in the Carolinas too. Not saying MSG is in the right, but it's certainly looking more and more like TWC is in the wrong.

I was just on chat with a rep. They have been saying that MSG is asking for a 53% increase in fees. Well, I asked what that translated to in actual dollars and cents. Of course, the idiot couldnt answer. My guess is the amount is so small that if they did say it, they would look stupid so they use percentages instead. For example, does TWC pay $1 per subscriber and they want $1.53? Do they pay $10 per subscriber and now want $15.30 each? My guess is it is a lot closer to the former as they know they would look like idiots over 53 cents per person. So, they put a percentage hoping that a naive public will see them in a better light. Of course when I threw all this at the moron rep, he couldn't answer.

I have zero loyalty to TWC. I don't care if MSG is asking fir the first born child of all the heads of TWC. Give it to them or they lose another customer to Verizon.

I read somewhere that MTV charges around 40 - 50 cents per subscriber.

I'm going to guess that MSG is less then that

According to market researcher SNL Kagan, cable and satellite-tv systems pay more than $4.50 a month per subscriber for Msg and Msg Plus. Walt Disney Co.’s Espn, the most expensive cable network will cost an average of $5.06 monthly per »
http://www.imdb.com/news/ni20306876/

Now, that's per month. So, we're looking at almost $50/year per subscriber. $50/year, add in millions of subscribers, you get a gigantic number. (TWC's three million subscribers would mean the fee for carrying MSG/MSG-Plus is $150 million per year).

And that's just the number for MSG. Now add ESPN, CNN, MSNBC, Food Network, YES Network, SNY, A&E, History, Discovery, and every other channel that also demands subscriber money, and you can see why (a) your cable bill is so high, and (b) why cable companies balk at increases.
