Agree.

Id like to see Richards play the right wing boards instead of the point on the power play. He's got more passing options from there, and Gaborik is not effective in that spot at all on the PP. I'd rather have Stepan or even Stralman and DZ play the points with Richards on the half wall, and some combination of Cally, gabby, dubi, hags in front and on the left side.

As a whole, yes.

For the past 5 or so games he's looked lost, though.

I was hoping he'd have a bigger effect on the PP. Otherwise, yes.

The Rangers have done great with Richards playing just fair . He is a big game player...he will be there when we need him . He will crank it up a couple of notches soon . Maybe the new love in his life has him a bit sidetracked ??? I dunno how Torts would deal with that ?

Lundqvist and Biron say hi.

I'm pretty happy with him. As others have said, he hasn't done much for the PP, but he gives us two first lines and is a great locker room presence, especially for DZ.

Dan Girardi leading the NHL in Time on ice per game and McDonagh being 12th in the league in TOI/G have nothing to do with us being in first place either.

Satisified, um yes. Richie is as good advertised, effective from day one with no adjustment period (See Kovalchuk, Ilya). Great having him as a Ranger, team is looking scary good.

Thing is, we have a bunch of players who quite frankly play way better than they are right now- Richards included. When Staal reestablishes himself and Dubi becomes a threat again we are going to be tough to beat.

He's a good fit on this team and I'm glad to have him here, but I hope he picks it up with his assist totals.

Absolutely. I expected a bit more production points wise, but hes excelled in every other area as well and has been incredibly clutch.

We would not be in the position we are in were he not with us. So yeah, I'm happy with him so far. He's mentoring the younger players, especially Del Zotto and that has been a huge factor in our success thus far. He's been a solid acquisition. This coming from a guy who had way less than 100% before we got him. I'm very happy with him.

He's made the team deeper and harder to game plan against. And we are in the top ten in scoring which has been an issue for us.

I am satisfied. 100%

Put Richards on the first line centering Gaborik and his points and assists would sky rocket. Richards would be top 10-15 in the NHL in points if he was on the first line.

However, Torts has this team believing so why mess with the team chemistry

Yes... he is a hell of a player and a great professional. Championship teams need players like Brad Richards.

I don't care if he doesn't put up 90 pts. He was brought here to compliment a good team, not carry it.

Ehh, he has looked good and the team is winning, but 28p in 34 games is not what I would expect from a player signed for that type of money. He needs to get to 70+ points for me to feel just 'okay' about his regular season.

The answer has to be a resounding yes for the following reasons:

1) We needed a #1C, Richards was
out there and expressed a desire
to play for Torts so it was a no
brainer to sign him.

2)He is producing; maybe not at the
pace we would have hoped for but
he'll end up with about 70 points.

3)He has provided leadership on the
ice and in the locker room helping
the younger players especially Del
Zotto mature and become better
professionals.

4)He has taken his move to the 2nd
line like a pro's pro.

5)His mere presence in the lineup
has taken a ton of pressure off of
Stepan which has enabled his
game to develop and even
flourish.

I stated during the summer that Richards is not an elite player but a player who possesses elite passing skills and that we shouldn't expect miracles from him in terms of point production. There are a lot more things that go into making a star player like Richards the right fit on a team and I believe we are getting pretty much what we paid for.
