PK might be a little better offensivly(even though McD has better #'s then him this season), but McD isn't too bad either. And McD is much better defensively and is much more discipline.
You obviously said that if you think our defense is garbage, and I've established that Subban is miles ahead of anyone on it not named Gorges, try reading what you reply to.
Not much difference in Subban, Girardi and Gorges defensively. You are delusional if you think Girardi is in the Norris discussion, just stop. There's a good number of defensemen that should be considered ahead of him.
You're defintiely a troll too, 3 replies to me with nothing but attacks on the poster not a single shred of counterargument.
HAHAHAHAHA oh man that was good!
I think it's close between the two but I gave the vote to McD because I think he is better defensively and has been playing better recently. They're both two early in their careers to really be able to tell who will be better.
Subban for me, I don't base a players worth off 40 games. Subbans defensive play is being under rated here, he's not a rookie anymore. I'm also more interested in an offensive defenseman.
McDonagh is gonna get blown out, even though it should be the other way. Half the people voting probably have never watched him play, because he only played half of last year.
Quite the opposite.McDonagh will win because many people will vote against any Habs player in a poll. Most know that P.K should win this poll but will vote against him and we all know why.

That's great news for this poll since McDonagh has played high quality defense for 81 games in his career.
Subban hasn't been that good defensively this year, even got scratched once.... McDonagh part of one of the best defense pairings in the league.
For a defense first defenseman, McDonagh seems to have the same amount of points as offensive superstar PK Subban too......

McD has played 76 games, Subban has played 117. What a huge difference.
And McD puts up just as good numbers and Subban but yet he is a rock in his own zone unlike Subban.

By saying 40 games I mean this season. HF has a wonderful "what have you done for me lately" philosophy.
Montreal is having a rough year, replaced their head coach and almost every player is under performing - their best defensive forward is -10.
A lot of people are comparing the two defenseman based directly off stats without taking into consideration that McD plays for the best team in the NHL and Subban plays on one of the worst, who, like I said is adjusting to a new head coach.
I like McD and he is very solid but Subban has higher potential IMO and it's easier to teach defense then it is offense.
McDonagh being on pace for 14 goals and 46 points really hurts. He and Subban would have been an amazing top pair for years to come.
McDonagh is superior for many reasons, Subban has an individualistic mindset and he is just still too immature, cocky, and honestly doesn't show that much respect to other players even his own teammates.
Instigates but hides many times behind the ref when the other guy wants to fight.

You should try watching Subban instead of just listening to Jack Edwards

you bumped a 3 month old thread to post this
Subban has been in beast mode past month or so. Hopefully he keeps it up next season.
Some people need to watch Subban play.
He's solid defensively now.
Exactly. He may struggle a bit early in the season. But he is solid as a rock on defense now. People should watch how Subban plays now before making comments like he is not good on defense.
I sincerely believe Subban's all-around upside makes him more appealing going forward.
However, McDonaugh's play as well as the whole NYR's brilliant output this year makes him an excellent candidate as well. He truly is a stud, just not one I would prefer over Subban.
McD has looked tired lately (he's only playing his 1.5 seasons and has played crazy minutes), but I think he's getting better, as well as the defense as a whole. Looked awful against Pittsburgh though. Won't change my vote though.
Said McDonaugh, but I'm not at all confident in that choice. Subban's ceiling is way higher, but he seems far more interested in developing into Jarkko Ruutu than Kris Letang.
A whole 58 more minutes over 72 games played, nice strawman argument.

is much better defensively,
Nowhere near much better, but slightly better, yeah I can live with that. It's the only thing he does better than Subban who's defensive game you are underrating.

is equivalent offensively
I can say with conviction that this is definitely not true, Subban is miles better offensively than McD.
