The organization would ask beat writers to keep it hush hush on the social networks as to make it a surprise announcement, especially for a game like the WC. I don't think it would be unreasonable to believe Zips, and Gross are tight lipped on this one, if they even know.

Neither of them work for the Rangers organization. They work for their respective newspapers. And part of their job as beat reporters is to get inside scoops and break stories.

Doesn't mean the Rangers wouldn't ask them to be hush hush if they were trying to keep it from getting out 'til the game. Scratch my back I'll scratch yours. If it weren't for the access granted to them by the Rangers, they wouldn't be getting many scoops.
