Fact... They are in cap hell.
They are out of the playoffs.
The team is a mess.
The coach doesn't speak french.
The Gm is managing to save his life.
Cammy has been a no show.
The team is a mess.
The team has serious issues and has had them for years.
Debatable... Subban not be liked by his teammates.( i would bet he isn't)
Room is divided if ^^^ then room is divided.
Probably not...Markov on the beach...But where is Waldo?
Not much speculation.
How is this a fact? They can likely fit all the RFAs under the cap and if not, one trade and it's fixed. That's not cap hell.
Yes, they are out the playoffs, granted.
How you figure? Because they are in a slump? Just like philly had an off year got JVR and finished last. Only in montreal is organization 'a mess'.
Okay, the coach doesn't speak french is related to the product on the ice how? because some people want a french coach means this is a real issue. Some people want Krejci, Horton and others traded. Should I assume the B's are in a mess too and unstable because of minority fan opinion?
Apart from kaberle he hasn't done much else. He signed Gorges and while I think he didn't give a discount, the money is fine. I dislike PG but he hasn't traded any asset this year has he?
Yup, Cammalleri has been inconsistent(and thats being nice). I can't argue this whatsover.
Team is a mess again? alright...
Oh, yah, for 'years' like when we went to conference finals or made the playoffs more often then not in last bit. Those type of issues? obviously, the habs are not perfect, we all know that and I won't pretend otherwise, but apart from some external opinions, some underachieving forwards this year and a minor cap issue, I don't see this mess nor do I see this long term problem we've been having either.
Subban part is pure speculation. You can't argue that.
I think you fail to get the point anyway. What you're saying is just to insult the organization more than have a discussion. If I went on B's board after Lucic got a suspension and then said "yah, just like mcquaid and chara, all goons, dirty players who try to injure"...you'd be like 'dude, i know we're talking dirty hits and suspensions but c'mon, wheres this coming from?'.
In any case, I was surprised you'd post what you posted. I go on the B's board fairly often as you know and I never had an issue with you whatsoever but you can't blame me for thinking you're stretching it if you're gonna post in habs section once a month and when you do it's a post insulting the entire structure of the organization and a lot of which is founded on speculation.
You have to understand I don't find that cool. In any case, I would rather you post here more often but at least point out that when you're saying something that isn't factual.
And please, just because some may agree with you here doesn't mean it's right. Some would trade Price and some would hire Chantal from RDS to be our coach, so minority doesn't count.
Why do posters like you are always right while the management/rest of the fans wrong in this kind of case? Do you know better then the management? I still freaking laugh at people that make fun of the Ribeiro trade. There's a reason he was traded for peanuts, no team wanted to risk taking him and ruining the team chemistry. Same happened with many other trades.
And why do people like you back everything management does? That trade set this franchise back years...and when it is all said and done...probably a decade.
I laugh at people that defend the Ribeiro trade. I think Ribeiro was a ****** but again, why haven't I seen or heard anything in Dallas? He was dumped for garbage and you defend that.
I don't know everything, but I damn sure am not going to form an opinion based on some 3rd hand information like a schoolgirl.
The room is divided.
The team is a mess.
they are in cap hell.
They are out of the Playoffs.
Markov is in FLD... on a beach.
The Coach doesn't speak french.
The GM is Managing to say his life
Subban isn't even liked by his teamates.
Somebody should tell Cammy the season started 3 months ago.
This team has serious issues. And has had them for several years now.
i got extra razor blades im not using if you ever want to borrow a couple
Ottawa fan here (but I grew up a Habs fan before expantion)
If you guys are trading P.K. or Plekanec I'd take both in a heart beat in Ottawa, Cammaleri on the other who had a hand in starting all this is a wussy - he won't even get his nose dirty in practice, he's way to pretty and is a wimp on the ice - If I was P.K. I'd punch Cammaleri in the face just for being a pretty boy while his teamates do all the dirty work.
All of us are just speculating because we don't know anything about locker room dynamics, but I have the feeling that Subban isn't really liked by his teamates and that this fight is more than just ''two fierce competitors being intense in practice'' PR answer.
Unfortunately we don't have journalists with spines, so we will never know, but basing our understanding on player comments that have been prepared by PR specialists is just pointless. A family member is a small time athlete on the internationial scene who talks twice a year to the media and he is bombarded with PR training. Yes, all of the answers are BS.
You really don't know what you are talking about then.
He was late for team bus, and I think a team meeting. This was reported, you can look it up.
There is video of Jacques Martin literally flipping out on Sergei for not paying attention at practice. Look it up.
Guy Carbonneau referred to Sergei when saying something along the lines of, "players acting like they are 10 year vets when they are rookies", back when he was coach.
When he got kicked off the ice at practice(or refused to come out, can't remember now) Price tried talking to him and Sergei shrugged him off to which Price said something like "real nice Sergei".
He threatened a bunch of times to leave to Russia even with Bob Gainey personally trying to talk sense into him and showing commitment to him.
Now all of this is public knowledge, if you were paying attention, not to mention all the "other" stuff like excessive partying, hanging out with the wrong kind of people, etc. So please tell me what can be disputed from what I said in my original post?

-Go and look around the league how often it happens. Especially with young players.
There is video of Jacques Martin literally flipping out on Sergei for not paying attention at practice. Look it up.
-JM who was in his first pre-season camp with the Habs was upset because Sergei did a stretch-pass play in practice (didn't fit in his system of moving players up the ice together)
-During the same camp, Sergei alledgedly got in a fight with Gomez. Every observer took Gomez's side. You had the proven leader Gomez who had just been parachuted in Montreal who was laying down the law on the young locker-room cancer.
When he got kicked off the ice at practice(or refused to come out, can't remember now) Price tried talking to him and Sergei shrugged him off to which Price said something like "real nice Sergei".
He was benched during the playoffs. He was upset. Henri Richard did the same.

1) Big deal?
2) Big deal?
3) Big deal?
LOL, and since when, a PK/Pleks discussion turned into a SK discussion. This only happens on Montreal board.
Please enlighten me. You seem to know way more from the inside than I do. A general bad attitude towards coaches and players?
Yes, I mentioned a bunch of things in another post that shows the disrespect he showed to his teammates, coaches and management. Would you like to pretend those things never happened?

Yes, I guess? I mean, I never said he was the devil and that he was bad all the time. The dude's a professional athlete, I hope he does things to help make him better.

Amazing what can happen when you're out to prove something. Motivation is a great thing, and not many people have it at the professional level. The kids ego got in his way in Montreal, and he became complacent. Good for him that he worked his butt off in Nashville. I'm happy for him as he is one of my favorite players in the world. And Kudos to Trotz, who may be the best coach in the world, for working with him.

No. Sean Avery is Sean Avery. People grow up at their own pace. Sergei is not a bad person (at least that's not what I'm saying) he was just a spoiled rich kid with a ton of talent and a huge ego! No room for ego when building an organization.

So was that Dubes' opinion? Was Martin or the goalie coach yelling at him? Help me please, because I don't see the similarities. No one can question Prices attitude so...

Sorry that you feel that way, but them's the breaks. Your only option as an organization in that situation is to a)send player down to teach him a lesson and light a fire (We tried) b)Have teammates, management try and talk sense into said player (We tried) c) Let player rot in KHL(excuse term "rot", I <3 KHL) (We're better than that) d) Trade player for best you can get (We tried).
Enlightened yet? But really, point is that Subban and Sergei are in no way comparable!
He was benched during the playoffs. He was upset. Henri Richard did the same.
You mean the Rocket's brother? Wonder why he would have gotten a pass on that? If he did, those were the days that the rest of the team would have taken care of that. For that matter, PK would have been dealt with before he played his first game.
SK has matured in Nashville. Playing hockey in Sodom and Gomorrah provides a young man with much more distractions as opposed to Nashville. Of course it's all speculation, but look at the history of rumours. Ribs, Higgins, Price, Theo, SK, Lats...As a young player, Montreal is a tough place to keep your feet on the ground.

LL. I was hired by the Bruins board to keep you busy on the habs board.
FWIW Price and Subban are the two most important pieces on the habs. Pleks a distant 3rd.
I think this team should go with a mini rebuild. Get whatever they can for Moen,Gill and Ak46.
Let the kids play.
See what you have. re evaluate in mid april.
Just because i'm a Bruins fan. doesn't make me wrong.

McNeil benched him in the 1971 playoffs. Richard sulked and called McNeil the worst coach he ever played for. Richard got to play in the 7th game. He scored 2 goals including the Stanley Cup winner.

This is my favorite post in this thread sums up all the bipolar fans, should be stickied for everyone to laugh at.
So basically most of this is 3rd hand information. Great. Also, OMG Sergei shrugged off Price!! Do you know how often things like that happen? Late for a team bus? OMG, that never happens!!! Seguin missed a practice...he was scratched and that was it.
When people dislike someone, they try to blow up any little thing about them and believe anything negative about them and assume everything said about them is right.
He was immature probably, but a cancer? Give me a break. Everyone's a cancer when they get traded from the Habs.
Well you've obviously never played a team sport in any real competitive level. Sergei shrugging off Price like that shows his bad attitude and Prices good attitude. You lump that together with all those other things and you've got a pretty good idea of the situation. Then you add the fact that he actually did get traded from a team that hoped he and his brother would be a great duo for many years to come and you start thinking; "Did we send sergei to hamilton and eventually trade him because management is not interested in winning? or was it because there were some real issues at play here?". You can choose your fairytale land and I'll stick with what I know.
Stop making crap up. I love Sergei as a player, you have no idea how much it pissed me off the way he was acting. He effectively screwed us over because we couldn't get decent return on him either.
And no, he wasn't a cancer, he was an immature punk. Laraque was a cancer.
Every single time I go see a practice, Subban gets in a little skirmish with a player. And the cross-checks and slashings they give eachother seems to be pretty serious. I've seen this happen with Camalleri, Plekanec, Gionta and Pacioretty. I have no idea what he says to irritate the other players so much but I honestly think he's a bother to most of the dressing room.

I would actually believe this
Add Pacioretty to that mix.
I am in full favour of a retool but I'd probably like to keep AK and trade guys like gionta or cammy in his place.
I agree with you on all counts, but I stand by my statement you overdid your claims. Hence why some quoted you as comic relief and some suggested they have razors, thinking you're a habs fan past delusion. lol The habs have their issues, I can't deny that and I think we need a new direction and philosophy. PG is worthless, he has no vision. Terrible GM. Luckily, I think his time is up.

I think the Habs are one of the worst at handling their young players. Look at how Pittsburgh took care of Crosby.
The list of ex-Habs who were traded/let go at a young age is long.
Higgins
Sergei
Perezhogin
O' Byrne
Ribeiro
Maybe some are headcases but most are probably not old enough to be on their own with all that disposable income. They need to be counselled by professionals and billeted with either older players or mgmt.
