So Spooner to the Sting now. Does that mean he plays with Nail? And if so, is it fair to expect a productive season and post season or does his recent bout with mono limit those expectations? Also for those more in-tune with the OHL and Sting, when is Grigorenko expected back if at all?

I think you are referring to alex galchenyuk? not that in-tune but the last thing i heard was that he may be a possibility later in the season close to the playoffs

I wouldn't count your chickens. Knight was supposed to be dealt too...remember?
I watched the Russia-Czech WJC game today. Nail Yakupov is just an unbelievable hockey player. If Spooner gets traded to Sarnia and they play together, they will likely be the best line in juniors. Certainly the most excitiing.
It is- just can't be announced until primary player going to Kingston (Ryan Kujawinski) finishes up at the U17- that from Brendan Ross of the Scouting Bureau blog.
He knows his stuff, so I'll leave the details to him.
I got that the deal is done from about as unimpeachable a source as you can have , so there it is fwiw- just waiting on the official announcement.

What's a Soderberg? Does it come with cheese and pickles?
No, that's a Soderberger.
The Finland vs Sweden game starts at 2pm and Canada vs Russia featuring Hamilton and Koko starts at 6pm. Sorry, that is 5pm EST and 9pm EST. Terrrible having to stay up that late to watch the game.

Barrie has a really good young team, tons of firepower. Unfortunately Camara will still be in tough to get into the top six with their offensive talent this year but it appears Barrie likes him if they're giving up two second round picks and a conditional second (can't trade firsts in the OHL so trading seconds is a big deal).
Hey guys, I don't post in here ('cause I'm a Leafer) but as a big Windsor Spitfires fan, I just wanna say congrats on getting a gem in KoKo. He had a goal and two assists tonight and was flying until that last 10 minutes when pretty much the whole team shut down. What are you guys projecting him to be?

Probably another year at Windsor, due to his age. There are a couple of 2010 draftees who will play professionally next year, one of which is a centre.
hopefully the bruins will have a really late first round pick. if they have that kind of pick do you see them targeting any specific position or do you see them just taking best available?
Their philosophy = BPA but in a defense-rich draft and when you consider that they factor organizational needs into their definition of "best available" there's a good chance they will pick a D this year.

A guy from the Brampton Battalion or the Soo Greyhounds would look pretty good eh ? I also wouldn't mind Malcolm Subban. In a few years he and Rask would be like Thomas Rask all over again.

No doubt.
Agree that GC and DB would be nice late 1st-round picks...have not yet talked to the Battalion stud, but he's on the list next week. GC is having a down year offensively, but his character is right up there- lower ceiling but good tools and a Bruins-type player.
Subban...interesting. They would have to take him in the 1st b/c he's not getting to the 3rd...hasn't been the way they value players in the draft of late. Although if they like a goalie enough they'll do it. They were all set to grab Tuukka Rask in '05 until the Leafs snaked him with the pick right before.
