I think he's KHL bound, tbh. People have speculated on that since he's been here. Really didn't want to go to Washington until they drafted and signed OV. Don't trust him as a player at all and his attitude certainly doesn't help. If the price is right, perhaps, but I just don't see Tallon going after him. I don't see him as having the character Tallon talks about.
Didn't he hold Washington up for a ton of cabbage as well? I thought I remember him coming over on his ELC and then going back overseas when Washington didn't meet his demands after that contract.

He gave em a hard time, I don't remember it all now, though.

Rumors are starting to jump up about Bobby Ryan going on the block again. could this be the player that DT is looking for?
ESPN.COM: Pierre LeBrun reports Pegula’s lieutenant Ted Black said they appreciate the frustration of Sabres fans but is calling for patience….LeBrun also reports the Anaheim Ducks won’t be shopping Teemu Selanne, but GM Bob Murray could start entertaining offers for Bobby Ryan again if the Ducks haven’t improved by the trade deadline. Craig Custance meanwhile suggested the Ducks could be a possible destination for Ryan Miller if the Sabres were to shop him.
Not a rumour but buffalo news suggests that we might be looking at hemsky to upgrade our 2nd line. how would you all feel about that?
personally I hope it doesnt happen, mainly bc i dont want us to pay the price for him which i think is still high even tho he has missed about 100 of the last 200 games.
However, if the price is low (read santorelli and ahler) i wouldnt mind it at all.. contract is up this summer

For the right price, I'd be happy with him coming here. I'd prefer someone who has a better history of durability but he has the potential to really help our secondary scoring problems.
Does anybody think that the Penguins would look at moving Jordan Staal and if so would he be the kind of player Tallon would be interested in?
He is only a year away from UFA so I guess there is a chance he could be moved, as opposed to being lost for nothing, especially if he is unhappy in his current position.
Just saw this posted in the trade rumours section:

Personally I love the idea. We lack center depth (Weiss is more of a 1a/1b guy and Goc is an elite 3rd line center but a subpar 2nd line center. Staal also means huberdeau can enter the league as a winger as focus on offense whereas centers are required to be good in the faceoff circle, defensively reliable, etc. with Staal we could go:
The pens losing is good for him potentially wanting to move on. I'd love him but it would take a hefty price to land him. Almost every other team would be after this guy. I'd do it depending on the price.

may have the wrong staal, but isnt he always hurt?
doesnt matter, this organization can't afford to take flyers on guys who have missed extended periods of time. we don't have the resources to bury a bad contract.
I would trade Versteeg and Garrison for Staal in a heart beat. especially if J GAR is looking for a big pay day
Personally I'd rather keep versteeg, and I only move garrison is he makes it abundantly clear that he will not resign.
I'd rather see us move a winger prospect whose near NHL ready (what Pitt would want), or a defenseman whose defensively responsible to shore up their blue line. My immediate thoughts would Howden and ellerby... A top winger prospect and a solid stay at home d-man.
However I'd swap garrison for ellerby is garrison won't resign and the pens prefer.
I would rather move a prospect too, but i'd have a hard time saying no if they asked for steeger. Staal is two years younger, scored, like 4 points less than him in fewer games while playing 2nd/3rd line minutes

An RFA and a UFA will not get him. We'd probably have to part with something significant to beat out a lot of teams.
I'd also be hesitant to trade for him because I'm almost certain he wants more minutes somewhere else so he can put up more points and cash in on his upcoming free agency. I'd like him but he's probably a one year rental.
Montreal fans are funny. Saw this as a proposed trade on tsn.ca:
To Florida:
1st round (2012)
1st round (2013)
To Montreal:
1st round (2012)
Huberdeau
Why is this starting to feel like all the Lecavalier to Montreal because he's FC rumors?
I believe that for as long as huberdeau is playing for us, the habs fans will never stop create proposals for him. luckily none of them ever make it to become GM of their team tho..
But I dont blame them for wanting him, he has everything they would ever want in a player! And I want huberdeau to become the player he can be with US! and if he was ever to be traded to them, I sure wouldnt do it now since they have zero pieces that make my manhood tingle
Garrison mentioned that he would like to play in Vancouver, if he doesn't stay in Florida. Any thoughts on if this year was a fluke or a true breakout? And does he play better on right or left?
Garrison's no fluke. He's improved every season after earning his way on the team. Sure, playing next to Campbell helps, but to me it only elevated his game another level. He was looking like a pretty solid player regardless over the past few years.
It'll be interesting to see what happens. I'd love to keep him, but of course we've got other holes and guys coming up. You've got Kuli who needs to be extended too. Are the Panthers going to spend a good chunk of their budget just on the blue line b/t Campbell, Jovo, Kuli AND Garrison with guys like Guds, Petrovic, Robak, etc., who are really good D-prospects? Guds will be up in another 2 years for an extension and he really developed well this year. All that has to into play when considering the dollars and years for JG.
