It would suck, but there really is no reason to not give him all the time and more. This year is a wash. I'd much rather lose Skinner for the year then have him come back too soon and possibly lose him for much longer.

Give him all the rest he needs this year so he's ready to go come training camp.

However, I do think its too early to say he's out the rest of the year.

Maybe Muller is just tired of people asking about it, knew the person was not anyone important to the team in terms of management, news, etc.... and used his French-Canadian taught arrogance?

To which I say, good for him! When Skinner is back, he is back. He's a HUGE asset and people need to stop rushing Muller on a return.

There's no reason to play him again this season....NO reason.

Uh, yes there is. If he's cleared and healthy it does him no good to sit for no reason.

Without knowing the extent of his injury, I wouldn't say that personally. If he is truly ready to go (unless there's only a handful of games left in the season), then it's better for him to play than to just sit. I realize there's a gray area as there are examples of guys (Crosby) coming back and having more problems, but there are examples of other guys who came back and were fine.

That said, I'd error on the side of keeping him out if there is even the slightest doubt, but if everyone is solidly convinced he's ready to go by midseason, I think it's better for him to play.

Per Chip Alexander.....Skinner returned to practice today wearing a non-contact jersey.

Skinner's long term health us far more important then this season, even if him coming back in the next week would be the difference between making the playoffs and not. He needs to take his time coming back, and frankly (as someone that's dealt with concussion issues) it almost always takes longer then people think is needed. While the lights and even intensity can be simulated in practice, the factor that most leave out of the equation is the noise, which can be just as much an issue as the other two quite easily. Until it's known that he's good to go back they need to take their time with this, and even then I'd start him off slow (like 3rd line minutes) for the first couple weeks until he has his bearings straight and they know he's fine.

Shortly after saying this, Staal was seen hitting Skinner with a flying elbow directly to the head. Skinner did not return to practice. When asked about this after practice Staal said he was "playing the puck". The hit occurred during a skating drill.

How appropriate that's in blue and white since we all know that Staal really wishes he was a Leaf and will be traded to Toronto for their second and third any minute now.

He likely has both. Though I'm not sure how he manged to **** up his knee that badly while he's supposed to be resting because of the concussion.

Since the recovery time is only 4 weeks, my guess is he had a nagging issue with his knee that required them to go in and "clean it up". He probably wanted to wait until season end, but now that he's sidelined with the concussion anyway, probably figured why not take care of it now.

Just a guess.

You are correct. He's had a nagging issue, so while he waits for his noggin to clear up, they decided to go ahead and get the knee cleaned up as well.

Nothing today. Last I saw was that he's practicing in a yellow non-contact jersey and traveling with the team.
