Scott Hartnell

Currently has 17G-18A and is a +21, yes a +21 good enough for 6th in the league. Honestly didn't think he was gonna be a Flyer much and longer and definitely never thought we'd see this level of production out of him as a Flyer. Not only is he putting up points, but all around he just looks so much better and he is also taking less idiotic penalties and has finally shown his value and the player that the Flyers were getting a few years back.

Also the points don't show it, but I thought yesterday was one of Hartnell's best games as a Flyer. Mixing it up, throwing the body and hitting everything that moved and strong against the boards it's just a shame it was wasted.

Been very, very impressed and surprised with him.

At the moment, he'd be my selection for next Flyers captain (if Pronger never comes back).

It'd be between he and Kimmo and I think I'd give it to Hartsy b/c I think he's a more vocal leader who would do well w/ the media.

I thought he was incredible last night. best game i've seen him play in quite some time. I'm becoming more and more of a Fan of Hartnell. I'm even starting to agree with Sandlansd about the captaincy.

Last night my friends dad told me Hartnell would be his first choice for captain if he was in Holmgren's shoes and I nearly did a spit take. But after thinking about it for a while, it kind of makes sense. He seems to have recently picked up a level of maturity in his game and doesnt seem to be all over the ice doing stupid ****. When Scottie is on his game he represents everything that Flyers hockey is about.

It's funny to see how many people like him now, both Flyer fans and Flyer haters. He really only had one bad season which was the year he and his wife split. Even then, he got it together in the playoffs. He's going to warrant a pay raise after this contract expires.

he is the second best player on the team, always said it

and screw anyone who think it's just because he's on giroux's line, he creates plays for giroux

people hate him just because he doesn't look like your stereotypical hockey player

To be honest I was one of the folks who wanted him traded. I am happy to eat crow.

May I please have more

He's been great this far. To be honest, I've never thought of him as a potential captain, but now when you say it..

He is a good player, and fits perfectly on that line. i think he has become more of a leader by example this year. he makes hits, gets in fights, and starts little scraps at times when the team is struggling, kinda like Lappy used to do. On top of that, he is having a great offensive season.

Wish he could skate a bit better but happy he is on the team.

There was always something about Hartsy that I've always liked, he is a Flyer through and through, I really like the idea of him wearing the "C", it sets a tone about the attitude of the team from the captain all the way down the bench, and they have the offensive skill to back up the grit, if I was Homer I would go about the search for a new captain the way of grit and heart, and let Roo flourish without the anchor of the "C" around his neck

At first i threw out the idea of him as a captain as a joke but the more i think of it. IF he keeps his play like this then he deserves it more than any other player on the team. except maybe giroux but lets avoid putting pressure on a young foward

HFBoards would implode.

Enough of the posters hate him already but F them. He's been playing captain material so far this season. I almost feel like they should create another "A" and give that one to him.

this is actually interesting.

Hartnell will be here a lot longer than Kimmo will, and is the perfect type of guy to help bridge the gap between young players and older players. He's not the typical stoic leader, but definitely an interesting choice for captain.

i could be on board for that.

EDIT:

Coincidence?

That was the first thing I thought of when people started to say he should get the C. At least he hasn't done it since then, yet.

I think we should trade Harntell while his value is high. He's producing right now because he's on a line with God and Jesus Christ.

Deep down inside he's still bad at hockey.

have you watched the games? Hartnell has been playing very well in all facets of the game. He has looked good even when not on the ice with G and Jags.

he had 3 points in the 4 games G was out for and had 3 points in the 4 games Jagr missed

That's cute, but be real. Anyone with size and a willingness to play infront of the net with players that create as many chances as Giroux and Jagr will reap huge benefits.

No chance of Hartnell ever being captain. Ever. Ever. He doesn't have "it."
