Pretty Embarrassing for the Rangers

I just came from an annual charity event called MDA’s Muscle Team. Run by the Muscular Dystrophy Assn. it gets together local NY athletes, other celebrities, families with children that have muscular dystrophy, and well off people that donate money and bid on sports memorabilia. I've probably talked about it here in the past. Last year Dubi came from the Rangers along with Ron Dugay, who's a regular. The Jets & Giants send 7 or 8 players each. It's hosted each year by Russ Salzberg.

This year the Rangers were the only local team not to send anyone. Not even a retired player. Their excuse was that the event didn't fit into their practice schedule. We all know the schedule. Were the Rangers practicing tonight? Evidently Henrik had time to talk to the noted hockey expert Mike Francessa tonight.

Pretty embarrassing indeed.

Oh god this is a joke right? With all the charity work these guys do, your embarrassed of your team because they didn't make it to this single charity event? They do as much charity work as any NY sports team out there.

If they never said they were attending then it's not really embarrassing.

Yes, it would be great if they attended (did they support it in any other way, whether it be $$ or something else?) but I can also understand that after the whole WC thing they'd like to rest and get back to 'normal'.

The Rangers have shown time and time again that they give back to the community, to call this 'embarrassing' is over-stepping the mark IMO

No offense, but the Rangers/Garden of Dreams do a **** load of charities. If their reason is that they're busy, then I believe them. Adam Graves wouldn't allow no one to show up if they weren't busy.

This.

Also, Hank could have easily been on the phone doing the interview at practice or something with the team. It's not like he was in studio. This is there jobs you know, if they were busy then I believe them.

This thread is pretty embarrassing. Did the Rangers have guys scheduled to appear but then back out at the last minute? The organization as a whole has to be one of the most charitable groups in all of sports. Yikes.

They do so much ****ing charity work and they should be embarrassed that they couldn't make it to this event? They were just in the Winter Classic last night and want to relax. If they're busy, they're busy.

This organization gives back so much, to complain about this is just flat out stupid.

The only thing embarrassing is the OP. It doesn't even NEED to be stated how much charity work the Rangers do. Jesus Christ.

The only thing embarrassing here is your whinning.

the amount of charity that the Rangers do that we KNOW about is enormous.

the amount of charity that the Rangers do that we DON'T KNOW about is even bigger than that.

To insinuate that they should be embarrassed or ashameed for missing one event is imature and childish.

Charity - Give and do what one can.

If they can't make it, they can't make it.

For all that they DO, DO. I feel you owe the team and organization an apology

Oh I get it now, you went to a charity event to meet some sports figures and there were no Rangers there so it's a bad on them. Makes sense now. Pretty embarrassing for you right there.
