Hagelin has a higher offensive upside than Wolski?

Yes, I think he does, especially with Callahan and Richards' ability to get the puck to the net. Hagelin has been a buzzsaw around the opposition net and is picking up what used to be called "garbage goals" in the old days. I've been a WW supporter but right now Hagelin is a better fit with RC and BR.

So far he's done nothing to suggest he doesn't.

He's a more well rounded player. And at a fraction of the price.

That said, Wolski needs to get into the lineup to up his trade value.

yea Wolski needs to get a shot on the Richards line.........if they are going to try and acquire a rental LW for that line then it's likely smart to get a Hagelin, Dubinsky,Boyle checking line going

I can see Mitchell starting to play like the fringe NHLer he is........I don't mind him as a 12/13th F especially with such a small cap hit but that's about it

not complaining cause the team is winning but I would hope for

Anisimov, Stepan, Gaborik
Wolski, Richards, Callahan
Hagelin, Dubinsky, Boyle ( can Hagelin play RW? )
Fedotenko, Rupp/Mitchell, Prust
EC will be gone eventually

FORWARDS
Brandon Dubinsky ($4.200m) / Brad Richards ($6.666m) / Ryan Callahan ($4.275m)
Artem Anisimov ($1.875m) / Derek Stepan ($0.875m) / Marian Gaborik ($7.500m)
Wojtek Wolski ($3.800m) / Brian Boyle ($1.700m) / Carl Hagelin ($0.875m)
Michael Rupp ($1.500m) / John Mitchell ($0.650m) / Brandon Prust ($0.800m)
Ruslan Fedotenko ($1.400m) / EriK Christensen ($0.925m)

DEFENSEMEN
Marc Staal ($3.975m) / Daniel Girardi ($3.325m)
Ryan McDonagh ($1.300m) / Stu Bickel ($0.600m)
Mike del Zotto ($1.087m) / Anton Strålman ($0.900m)
Jeff Woywitka ($0.650m) /

GOALTENDERS
Henrik Lundqvist ($6.875m) / Marty Biron ($0.875m)

BUYOUTS: Chris Drury ($3.717m)
2010/11 Overage ($0.527m)

CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)
(these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $60,872,834; BONUSES: $825,000
CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $3,427,166

Wolski is next to return. Thereafter Sauer ($1.250) + Eminger ($0.800) will hopefully both return from IR within 5-6 weeks - most likely Bickel & Woywitka will then be waived & sent down. Cap space is then $2.627.166. With a 23 man roster. I have excluded Kolariks cap-hit (on LTIR) altogether, as he will be sent down as soon as he returns from his injury.

Looking at this lineup - you can see we could easily dump Christensen (by the deadline) and then have $3.552.166 in cap space.

Enough for some serious prorated deadline moves...

Maybe?:
Prospal, B Ryan & Sarich in
Dubinsky, Wolski, Christ, MZA, Valentenko, one of Strålman/Eminger, Avery (?), plus selected prospects/picks out
You "experts" put together the deals pls...

Bobby Ryan ($5.100m prorated) / Brad Richards ($6.666m) / Ryan Callahan ($4.275m)
Vinny Prospal ($2.500m prorated) / Derek Stepan ($0.875m) / Marian Gaborik ($7.500m)
Carl Hagelin ($0.875m) / Artem Anisimov ($1.875m) / Ruslan Fedotenko ($1.400m)
Michael Rupp ($1.500m) / Brian Boyle ($1.700m) / Brandon Prust ($0.800m)
John Mitchell ($0.650m)

DEFENSEMEN
Marc Staal ($3.975m) / Daniel Girardi ($3.325m)
Ryan McDonagh ($1.300m) / Mike Sauer ($1.250m)
Mike del Zotto ($1.087m) / Cory Sarich ($3.800 prorated)
One of Anton Strålman or Steve Eminger (MAX $0.900m)

Fits capwise...

Fed - Rupp - Prust
Mitchell

Waive EC

Girardi - McD
MDZ - Staal
Stralman - Bickel
Woywitka

Hank
Biron

I assume you mean that they will be game shape...leave the forwards alone, but on D:

Staal-Girardi
MDZ-McD
Stralman-Bickel (Sauer when he comes back)

I don't like seeing Mitchell sitting or any little shake up of the line-up right now unless it's Sauer coming back, but Wolski deserves another chance. Give him till the end of the month. If not, we've read it before...

Trade, waive, trade, blah, blah, blah.

This is what I'd lean towards. McD is enough of a boss to handle playing on his offside. I don't really want to mess with MDZ at this point.

Doubt Wolski will be playing with Richards on the second line. Prob will float get 4th line minutes for a few games then be bounced out of the line up.

And as for staal depends how fast he progresses I'm sure we won't have to worry much if he's continues to be healthy

Rather see him on the third line to inject some offense over Fedotenko.

Hagelin-Boyle-Wolski could do some damage,

Wolski's not playing anytime soon torts has the lines right with duby finally going

Anisimov Stepan Gaborik
Dubinsky Richards Callahan
Hagelin Boyle Fedotenko
Rupp Mitchell Prust

McDonagh Girardi
Del Zotto Stralman
Staal Bickell

Wouldn't be surprised to see Staal and McD switch places by next week. McD could use a break. Eventually I'd really like to see him with Del Z he'd have to move to the right but I think McD could do it

Anisimov - Stepan - Gaborik
Hagelin - Richards - Callahan
Wolski - Dubinsky -Boyle
Fedotenko - Rupp - Prust

1. I don't see Hagelin being pulled from that line, unless he loses his scoring touch, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
2. If Wolski does not throw his weight around I would honestly prefer to see Mitchell back in there because the forecheck on that line has been entertaining and effective.
3. Boyle and Dubinsky offer a nice set of centers for the defensive draws

McD-Girardi
MDZ - Sauer
Staal - Stralman

1. Until Staal gets into game shape.
2. When Eminger returns it becomes a numbers game,
3. If Stralman can continue to play solid minutes and play point on the PP I think he sticks
4. Eminger plays his heart out with the blocked shots and he was looking half decent on the 2nd pairing before Hanzal took him out. He makes excellent insurance and hopefully Torts rotates the blueline to keep everyone fresh, especially Girardi.

Henrik hopefully plays 60-65 games, the image of him dropping to his knees on the Washington winner in the playoffs is a picture I want to forget.
Biron pushing the King is good for them both. My hope is that Marty gets the Fedora at least 2 times before all is said and done.

Agreed.
No way does Wolski automatically get thrown on the 2nd line. The guy isn't even remotely close to game shape.

He'll play 4th line minutes for a while. Then he'll float a bit, and he'll be out of the line-up.

You guys are ridiculous. Wolski has more talent than anyone on the 3rd and 4th lines right now, He's a slacker yes, but the talent is there. If torts didn't believe that he had "it" he would have told sather to send him packnig a long time ago.
