Great game played by the Russians, capitalizing on their chances. A painful but well deserved win.

Congrats Russia, a deserved win. At least Canada wasn't humiliated and fought back. Few, I was afraid we'd get laughed at like crazy, but we saved our dignity at the end. Kuznetsov seems like a cool kid and very talented.

Congratulations to Russia. It is not meaningful to have a rival who never beats you. It was a hell of a game, and a hell of an effort by your boys.

I wish you a good game tomorrow vs the Hergy Flerghies.

Very good game by the Russians. Despite the shot totals, Russia was the much better team in the first 2 periods.

Yakupov and Kuznetsov are amazingly good - best two players in the tournament in my opinion.

Canada showed some real heart at the end and I can't believe Stone rang the post at the end there.

Congrats guys, best of luck against Sweden.

I'm not really sure how Russia won this game, but Kuznetsov scared me to death everytime he entered the zone. He, Yakupov and Vasilevsky looked fantastic for Russia. Congrats on the victory.

Congrats Russia, you fought hard and gave us an incredible game, something we are almost always assured of when Canada and Russia meet on the ice. I hope we meet again next year but I hope next time it's for the gold.

I'd disagree with that. Sweden has a great team....they've already proved that by beating the Russians once.

They didn't play overly well against the Finns, but i think RUS and SWE are the 2 best teams in this tournament. I expect a tight final (though it wont be as theatrical as this game)

Good game. IMO it's not even close. This is still Canada's greatest rival.

What I would like to see is the Russians leading other European countries away from the over the top celebrations.

While this did not apply tonight too many European country's celebrations are way over the top. As they say, act like you have been there before.

They outplayed Canada plain and simple. Looked like a team out there. While Canada players didn't seem to know where to find each other.

Opened this thread expecting to see trolling and backhanded compliments... shame on me... Thanks to gracious Canadian fans.
