Bertuzzi literally picked him up and took him off the ice.
It wasn't even a hit.

We were talking before about how it might make sense to trade Grossman soon instead of signing him to a new deal just so we're assured of not losing him for nothing. Well, I think it makes sense to trade him just so he's no longer on the team. I don't think we should even be looking to re-sign him in the first place. Try to recoup the draft pick that was used on him.

Why was Grossman on the ice when we need a goal? Might as well have put Pardy and Fistric on the point. Brilliant coaching decision.

Also, how was there not a call on Bertuzzi there? Interference? Roughing? Too many men on the ice? Take your pick because I believe you could have called all three. Completely away from the play he bear hugs Ott and forces him into the bench and it appeared this is while Bertuzzi was supposed to be making a line change and other Detroit players are coming on the ice.

He deserved it. He was better than almost all of our regulars.

I find it hard to tell where this extensive disparity between good & bad games comes from, constantly. Such a rollercoaster ride. There are some serious mentality issues inside the team that need to be addressed.

Larsen is full time now, keep Jordie up for now, and package Pardy and Grossman for some type of top six forward or top 4 dman who can help on the pp.

Seriously Pardy needs to be benched for Thursday and put in Dillion. There's no way he could possible play any worse than Pardy did tonight.

i didnt see details of ott/bertuzzi at the end.. but it looked like ott got held down on the bench by 3 wings after throwing a very late hit .. i guess the refs just chose to ignore all of it

Ott has a separate set of rules that govern what gets called surrounding him. It's been that way for a while.

He made his own bed.

On a good note, its nice to see Gully FINALLY giving Benn's line the ice time it deserves, and not giving Ribs line 1st line minutes despite them being horrendous.

Benn only had 5 seconds more icetime than ribs

Atleast its getting closer

Ott and Morrow had around 3 more minutes than loui and Ryder which is a travesty

Ryder has the best shot on a Dallas Stars team since Brett Hull laced them up here. Wow he is lethal when he turns it on.

Lehtonen was not very good again tonight. He made some great saves but he also missed a few.

This defense is still terrible. Both Pardy and Grossman need to go. For a guy who was never supposed to be anything at all Jordie Benn played alright. He can stay for another game at least.

Jamie Benn is a beast and Loui Eriksson is solid in all the right ways just like Jere Lehtinen used to be.

I figured they'd be 1-2 with Columbus, Boston and Detroit. Didn't expect the the order but until this team learns to defend they're never going to compete with the best in the West.

The game had some nice flow at times and they didn't give up but it seemed every time momentum tried to turn our way a mistake ended up in the Dallas net. While I've resigned myself to that it's still disappointing to see games like this slip away.

Grossman hasn't really improved much since he first came up in my opinion. Such a shame.

I thought it was a real good game (for Jamie)," Gulutzan said. "I made a conscious effort there to get 21 minutes tonight. He was going and we need to find more ice for him. In fact, we should have had a little more ice for Loui and Rydes tonight."
Baby steps

I agree completely, but at least Gully is starting to acknowledge it instead of blindly go with his veterans like he was doing earlier this year.

both ryder and loui are veterans. though I guess you mean Benn. Still he's hardly some 19 year old rookie. Both Ott and Morrow need to switch ice time with Ryder and Loui. Ribs extends his shifts and that increases his numbers but decreases Benn's. Still that has to be rectified if this team is going to go anywhere.

I didn't think Grossman was that bad... but he doesn't belong on the PP or in an offensive situation. But he's shooting. He NEVER shoots. 30 shots this year so far for a guy who had 39 in 59 games.

Pardy and Robidas can be shot into the sun, still.

That was a real thriller tonight with the bad ending for us (again).
I hate to see games against the Sharks, Nucks and Wings, always the same s***.

I don't know if our defense will improve if Robidas returns, but they were like swiss chesse yesterday.

Hopefully the luck will be on our side nexttime, then the shot from Pardy which was deflected by Lidstrom will be in the net instead hit the post.
