I remember this. Worst officiated game I've probably ever watched.

Ahh the days when Yanic Perreault was the top scorer on the team, definitely don't miss those days tho Theodore was fun to watch.
Brisebois and Traverse must have been the worst D pairing in hockey history, to be only a -2 each in a game against New Jersey is actually impressive

Remember this game vividly, and hated Fraser so much for this and the Carolina playoff series. I kinda forgave him years later and thought his overall body of work was not that bad

Geez Montreal has had a lot calls like this go against them the last few years, I hope it's incompetence and not bias, either way NHL reffing has to improve.

And after looking at that lineup and remembering those years I don't care what anyone says, Bob Gainey did a lot more good for the Habs than bad during his tenure.

it felt like the world was turned upside down because Pat Burns was actually the calm coach who tried to relax Savard.

I'll never forget therien's mustard suit that day. Fraser had a short fuse but therien should have known who the ref was and controlled his temper too.

I think Pat Burns was trying to calm Savard down at the end... RIP Pat

I'll never forgive Fraser for what he did in Carolina. I was at the game and just could not believe it. Not that there weren't MANY other things to be angry with him for. Horrendous referee who everyone seems to think had biases against their team. But man was he hard on us.

What happened with us and Carolina? I was 9 at the time so I obviously don't remember too well

He seemed to be biased against Canadian teams. The infamous Gilmour incident, this one, he cost Calgary a cup

That's why I loved Therrien, the guy had a great temper.

I think that was true of Bob Gainey at the beginning of his tenure. Toward the end he started getting more irrational with his decisions. I miss the days of Jan Bulis, Richard Zednik, Marcel Hossa and the list goes on...We'd get outshot every game and somehow won lol...Anyways, back to Bob Gainey, ok GM who completely blew it. You can't have 5 of your six top 6 forwards being small. You need size to win in this League. Overpaying for small player long-term and past their prime...not a good idea.

Help!?
I wont lie....that was awesome how Savard had the balls to go down there and say what he had to say. its the kind of thing we are missing in the organization since Gainey took over. Dont get me wrong. I respect the guy alot but I just wish there was more passion like that instead of the "weekend at bernies'ish" attitude we get from gauthier and gainey.

He gave us a series win against the Nords back in the late 80's, so he wasn't all bad. Almost caused Michel Bergeron to have a cornary, LOL. Terry Gregson was the guy who had something against the Habs back then.

get angry when you lose god dammit...
if you're not angry every time you lose, you're in the wrong line of business.

Yeah, would be nice to see Habs players freak out after every loss, go mad 30+ times a year... might wanna rename the the HF boarders or something...

Watched the clip this morning, I was angry all the way to work... Fraser makes Chris Lee look like a omniscient genius.
