We have been winning games in regular time instead of going to OT or shootout. I think thats mainly due to our defense finally forcing them

Good thing that once Game 83 rolls around there are no shootouts.

i thought it was gonna be "wrap arounds"

we aren't winning shootouts like last year because we have only had 4 of them. Also our shootout roster was EC, WW, and MZA. In 2 of 4 Shootouts this season, we've had EC and WW in one game and EC and MZA in another. In those two games, all four above mentioned shooters (EC x2) missed their shots. That will happen sometimes. The 3rd one we won, the 4th we were completely shut out in.

In the end, 1-3 is too small of a sample size.

I'm actually very happy that we've gone to only 1 shootout this season. It's been a big problem in previous years, and now that we're finishing games, I'm liking this a lot more. You don't have shootouts in the playoffs.

Not only that, but it makes getting rid of Christensen and Wolski a lot easier.

and this is what sifts out the garbage from the good teams in the playoffs. teams make the playoffs because of the shootout. it really is something GM's need to consider when building a roster.

we were a bad team in the 08-09 season. we always won in that stupid shootout. it really helped us make the playoffs.

the devils are really good in the shootout this year. they aren't that good though, but it gives them WINS. it isn't the way to win a hockey game. but it is how this current league does it.

Last year we were great at keeping leads. This year we're great at that... but now we're also great at getting them.

Seems like we are better at finishing games this year.. whether in regulation, OT or shootout.

Seemed like we got lazy at the end of games- or only skated hard at certain times. This team definitely keeps the intensity up from first horn to last. Love that about them.

We've had four (Ducks x2, Tampa Bay, Ottawa). We only won 1 (Ducks at home).

i was thinking that the whole time during last nights' game. i was like... hm. this is weird.... last night, you could tell they werent trying to GET to the shootout, which is nice. last couple seasons, thats all they seemed to do. if you have a team that can end it 4 on 4 why waste your time. put the game on ice, get your gear off and get outta town.
